Alli moved to Chicago and lived with her good friend Chloe, while Pete moved to Chicago a year later and moved in with his good friend Andrew. Andrew & Chloe became coworkers and started hanging out with other coworkers outside of work, eventually dragging their roommates along with them. The first night Alli met Pete, Alli was determined to stay in for the night. Chloe didn't like that answer and so they struck a deal that if Chloe got her a ride (Andrew and his sister singing Hamilton the whole way), she would come hang out - but she refused to change (showing up in a ratty sweatshirt, leggings, and socks with sandals). Once she arrived she decided to make a game where everyone had to take turns dancing on a carpet to liven things up. Pete threw down some moves that made Alli laugh and Pete's first impression of Alli was that she was odd but charming. Chloe, Andrew, Alli, and Pete started hanging out more often as the months went on until Pete finally asked Alli on a date 8 months later. Alli and Chloe strategically planned the date to be the same night Chloe would hang out with Andrew to avoid Alli having to show up alone and feel nervous. Eventually, Alli and Pete split off and got food at Corridor Brewing. The rest is history!
Pete and Alli love biking and brew hopping together. Pete planned a whole day around biking to places that were special to them, reading a special note at each about what they meant to them and a special memory. They stopped at old apartments, where they had their first date, where they often went on dates, and more. The last stop was a beautiful Chicago skyline overlook next to Lake Michigan and Ohio Street Beach. This was meaningful as Pete is from Michigan, Alli is from Ohio, and they met in Chicago. He read a long passage of promises and memories and asked the question. Alli said yes and their great friend, Max was there to capture it all! The two continued biking, called family and friends, and then went out with friends to celebrate (shout out to Travis for coming out to celebrate even though he had been in the hospital for a knee injury that same day).
