Maid of Honor
The youngest of the Allen crew, and the only sister of the bride. At birth, Elise was not much for her new sister, but she was stuck with her. With no choice, they became the best of friends (for the most part.) Alyson holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Special Education both from the University of Maryland. She currently works as an elementary special education teacher in Montgomery County, Maryland. In her free time she likes to workout, go to happy hour, and hang out at her sister's house and eat all her snacks. She is the mom to an adorable and feisty tuxedo kitten named Luna.
Best Man
As Christopher's only child, he is honored to be his dad's best man. Like his father, Jordan was raised and educated in Montgomery County. In high school he competed on the indoor track and field team at Walter Johnson High School. Currently, he is living in DC and working as a teachers assistant at Bright Horizons. In his free time he likes to play video games and hang out with his dog Champion Fuzzelworth.
Mother of the Bride
Originally from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Christine moved to Maryland in 1984. She met her husband Karl while they both worked for the federal government. She attended Penn State where she received a degree in Accounting. Like her daughter, she was a Division I athlete and competed on the swimming team. She is happily retired and spends her days practicing with her masters swim team and online shopping ( a trait she also passed on to Elise.)
Mother of the Groom
Mary Beth was born in Washington DC and has lived in the DC area most of her life. She hold an undergraduate degree from Depaul University in education and a graduate degree in education from George Washington University. While in graduate school, she met her husband Wayne and they got married in 1981. She worked as a special educator and administrator for over 4 decades in Prince George's, Montgomery, and DC pubic school systems. She is also happily retired and spends her time knitting, watching her favorite sporting events, volunteering at the local library, and enjoying the company of her sweet dog Sloopy.
Father of the Bride
Hailing from Glassboro, NJ, Karl got his bachelors degree in Accounting from Glassboro State (Now Rowan University.) He met his future wife while they were both working as accountants for the federal government and he moved to Maryland after they got married in 1989. After 35 years in the government, he is now happily retired and spends his days hanging out with his dog Lacey and getting swole at the gym. You can also frequently catch him stressing out watching the Philly sports teams.
Father of the Groom
Born and Raised in DC, Wayne was a gifted sprinter from a young age. He was a city record holder in the 100 and 220 yard dashes. He then continued his career at the University of Tennessee where was a part of the Volunteer's 3 Indoor SEC Championships and 4 Outdoor Championships. He is also on Tennessee’s Letterman Wall of Fame. After an impressive athletic career, he continued with a successful professional career in education. He was a teacher, administrator, principal, and on the board of education in Montgomery County. Wayne passed in March 2013 and left behind a lifetime of friends and family who admired and loved his captivating personality. He is survived by his wife, son, and grandson and his charm and charisma are missed greatly.
