FAQs

PLEASE READ: Make sure your passport has at least six months of validity past your travel dates. IE: If you are going to be in Greece until 07/01/2022, make sure your passport doesn’t expire before 01/01/2023. Some countries only require you to have three months beyond the expiration date during travel, but some are more, so six months is a good rule of thumb. If you do not have this, we recommend jumping on this ASAP. You should be able to still get your passport back in time, but we would recommend expediting it to be safe.
Question

Are kids joining the wedding events?

Answer

Regrettably, we will not be able to accommodate children due to guest count restraints.

Question

What is the weather expected to be like?

Answer

Santorini is pretty consistently sunny and upper 70s to low 80s towards the end of June. There is some humidity: ~ 50 - 60%. Because of the heat, weddings in Greece typically do not start until the evening, hence our late start!

Question

Are personal devices (cameras) allowed during the ceremony?

Answer

Please keep your phones and cameras put away during the ceremony. We have wonderful photographers to capture this special moment and we ask that you enjoy it along with us without devices.

Question

Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Most of it will be outdoors! The ceremony will be outdoors, and then everyone will be directed to a lower terrace after the ceremony for a cocktail hour while dinner is set up. The majority of the reception will be outdoors on the same upper deck as the ceremony, but at midnight we'll move indoors. Santorini has noise ordinances for most of the places built into the cliffs, so in order to keep the dance party going for a few more hours, we'll need to move inside! It's a cool cave-like room right off the main terrace, so don't worry, we won't be going far!

Question

What are the COVID-19 requirements to enter Greece?

Answer

As of 05/01, Greece dropped its COVID-19 entry requirements. This means they don't require proof of vaccination, proof of recovery or a negative test result to enter. We will continue to keep a close eye on this and let you know if anything changes. If you are vaccinated, it's probably not a bad idea to still travel with your vaccine card just in case. The best way to stay up to date is to visit: https://travel.gov.gr/#/ and https://greecehealthfirst.gr/

Question

What if I am traveling to another country before arriving to Greece?

Answer

Even though Greece dropped its COVID-19 entry requirements, we encourage everyone to look at the COVID-19 entry requirements for any other countries you are traveling to before or after, as we know many of our guests are doing extended trips, and each country's requirements are different.

Question

What are the COVID-19 requirements to reenter the US?

Answer

The US also requires a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 1 day before travel, or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 in the past 90 days, before you board your flight. They require this regardless of vaccination status. Antigen tests or NAAT tests are acceptable (see FAQ on the CDC website for more specifics on acceptable tests). For those heading back to the US from Santorini, our planner recommends using Santorini Central Clinic in Fira for testing on the island, and she recommends making an appointment in advance. Their rapid antigen tests cost 10€. You can reach out to them via the contact form on their website. There are also testing sites in pharmacies, which are located all over the island. These would be a walk-in service. Not all pharmacies do this, but there will be a sign outside stating if they do COVID-19 testing. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/testing-international-air-travelers.html

Question

How do I use my phone in Greece?

Answer

To communicate with other guests and anyone back home, we recommend downloading WhatsApp. As long as you are using the app while connected to the Wi-Fi, WhatsApp chats will always be free. We will likely communicate any important messages via WhatsApp and email to make sure we are able to reach everyone. You can also contact your phone carrier to add on international data to ensure that you will not incur roaming fees.

Question

Any specific items to bring to Greece?

Answer

We definitely recommend bringing a couple voltage adapters with you. The standard voltage in Greece is 220-240V and in the US it's 110-120V. We recommend buying the universal ones if you plan on traveling to other countries to ensure you can plug your devices in everywhere! Make sure you don't just buy an adapter, but that you get ones that are "adapters and converters." You can easily buy these on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=travel+adapter+and+converter&crid=1UECR7BVSC2SZ&sprefix=travel+adapter+and+converte%2Caps%2C139&ref=nb_sb_noss--

Question

How will you communicate any updated information and/or changes before the wedding?

Answer

We will make sure to send any important messages via email leading up to the wedding. Once we're in Greece, we'll do our best to communicate through both email and text/calls to make sure we reach all of you with any important information!
