We owe it all to Bumble! After talking on the dating app for a week or two, Andrew invited Alleigh to watch a Packer game at Buckley's in Queen Anne with a few of his friends in November 2015. They had a great time and ended up spending all day together. (Fun fact: Andrew picked Alleigh a small flower on the side of the road that day and it's now framed in their house!) They walked downtown and wandered through Pike Place Market. At the end of the market, they passed a booth selling photography. There was a picture of the Seattle skyline and Alleigh made a comment about how beautiful it was. She was fairly new to Seattle still, so hadn't known about all the sights to see yet. The following week, Andrew asked Alleigh on another date, this time just the two of them. They went to dinner and drinks and then Andrew surprised Alleigh, driving her up to Kerry Park - the same park from the picture at the market! It's where they had their first kiss and knew there was something special between them. The next several months, they continued to see each other between the holidays, work and trips. They finally made it official on July 12, 2016. Now it's nearly six years, a house, and two dogs later!
While Alleigh was studying abroad in college, she never made it to Greece but had always wanted to go. After coming back to the US, she decided she'd save Greece for her honeymoon. What better place? On their second date (their first just the two of them), they were eating dinner and were talking about their travels. Alleigh asked Andrew if he'd ever been to Greece, and his response was, "I'm saving it for my honeymoon." From then on they always joked that if they got married, they had to do their honeymoon there. Andrew even recalls suggesting their wedding be there if they ever got married! Fast forward to when they started seriously talking about a wedding, they both realized that a destination wedding fit them and was what they wanted. It's a bucket list place for them, and they couldn't imagine a more memorable trip and a better way to start this next chapter of their lives together than to have all of their loved ones there with them!
