Originally built for the 1897 Tennessee Centennial Exposition, it now stands as a beloved landmark celebrating art, history, and the spirit of “Athens of the South.” Inside, you’ll find a museum with American art and stunning classical architecture—a perfect spot for photos and exploring!
If you love country music, this is a must-see! It’s the official museum that celebrates the history, artists, and culture of country music. You can check out all kinds of exhibits, see who’s been inducted into the Hall of Fame, and even learn how new members are chosen. They’ve got info on tickets, tours, and family programs too—perfect for a fun day together!
Right in downtown Nashville, this museum celebrates the incredible history and impact of Black musicians across more than 50 genres—everything from gospel and blues to jazz, R&B, and hip-hop. You can walk through interactive exhibits, see amazing artifacts, and experience how American music got its roots. It’s open Tuesday through Sunday, and they even have special events, live performances, and free admission on some Wednesdays—definitely worth a visit!
This place is such a fun stop! It’s a historic print shop that’s been around since 1879, and you can actually see old presses and wood type in action. They’ve got tons of colorful posters to check out, and you can even try a bit of printing yourself. It’s a cool mix of history, art, and Nashville’s music vibe—great for both kids and adults!
This is a beautiful Art Deco building downtown and always has new art exhibits from around the world. There’s a hands-on area called the Martin ArtQuest Gallery where everyone—kids and adults—can get creative. It’s a fun, family-friendly break from all the music stuff around the city!
Arrington Vineyards is such a fun spot just south of Nashville! It’s set on beautiful rolling hills and has plenty of space to relax, picnic, and enjoy the outdoors. They’ve got amazing wines and tastings, plus live music on weekends, so there’s something for everyone. It’s a really laid-back, family-friendly place to hang out and take in the scenery together.
Jonathan’s Grille is one of our favorite places to eat in Nashville. They’ve got everything from wings and burgers to tacos, pizzas, and salads—basically something for everyone. They also have gluten free pizza which Will and I love. There are tons of TVs all around so you can catch your favorite game while you eat, and they even have happy hour specials and deals that make it extra fun for a casual outing!
Another favorite of ours! I Love Sushi in Nashville is such a great spot to grab a relaxed meal together. They’ve got everything from sushi rolls and sashimi to ramen, fried rice, and bento boxes, so there’s something for everyone. There’s a full bar for the adults and they also have gluten free options.
O-Ku in Nashville is another really cool spot for a special night out. They serve fresh, high-quality sushi and other Asian-inspired dishes, all made with top-notch ingredients. The vibe is stylish but welcoming, and they even have a happy hour early in the week if you’re looking for a little treat. We usually go here for special occasions since it is more on the pricey side but it is SO good! They have gluten free options as well and are very mindful of cross contamination.
DeSano Pizza Bakery make authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas in big wood-burning ovens, using top-notch ingredients like fresh mozzarella and San Marzano tomatoes. The pizzas are delicious, and the whole spot has a warm, welcoming vibe. Best pizza in Nashville!
Sixty Vines is in downtown Nashville. They’ve got a “wine on tap” system with lots of varieties, so adults can try different wines easily. The food is perfect for sharing—think wood‑fired pizzas, pasta, and charcuterie boards. This is also a favorite for special occasions for us. They are very gluten free friendly as well. Parking can be a pain to figure out for this restaurant so we would recommend this if you are planning to visit downtown/broadway!
Nudie’s Honky Tonk is another favorite broadway bar for us! It’s three stories of live music, dancing, and good vibes, with a big rooftop that has awesome views of downtown. The place is packed with country music memorabilia and those famous “Nudie suits” made for legends like Elvis and Johnny Cash. There’s even a Cadillac hanging on the wall! It’s definitely loud and lively—the perfect place if you’re looking to soak up the full Nashville honky-tonk experience.
Chief’s on Broadway is such a cool spot! It’s Eric Church’s six-story bar right in downtown Nashville, and it’s got live music on multiple floors, awesome vibes, and killer rooftop views. It’s a little more upscale than your typical Broadway bar but still super fun—definitely worth checking out!
Odie’s Bar is a bar in Midtown and owned by the band Old Dominion. They’ve got live bands, DJs, and a big indoor-outdoor setup with plenty of space to hang out. The food and drinks are great—think burgers, sandwiches, and creative cocktails. It’s got that laid-back Nashville feel without the full-on Broadway chaos.
If you’re planning to come to Tennessee a few days early, we highly recommend catching a Nashville Predators game! They’ll be taking on the Boston Bruins at Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville on March 5th, 2026. The game starts at 7 PM, with doors opening about an hour and a half beforehand. It’s such a fun experience—great energy, live music, and an awesome crowd that really brings the Nashville spirit to life!
