So happy you asked! Unplugged weddings are weddings with (get ready for this...) NO CELL PHONES/TABLETS/CAMERAS DURING CEREMONY! WHAAATTT?!? This is because guests at weddings now a days will have all their screens out during the ceremony. So, guests stare at their at screens rather than being present AND it makes such a better photo when there are no electronics blocking the photographers view (yes, Alissa HATES electronics at weddings...she must be a wedding photographer or something...). Don't worry, we have an AMAZING wedding photographer and we will share the gallery of photos with all our guests!
We're pretty much the most chill bride + groom so...we would say brunch/cocktail/business casual attire. If you've always wanted to be a fashionista, this is the wedding for you to try it. BE AS FASHUNNN AS YOU WANT. *This is NOT a black tux/gown kind of wedding
Limited flights go directly to Palm Springs Airport. So, we suggest flying into LAX and then renting a car for the 2 hour or so drive from LAX to your hotel/airBnB in Palm Springs :)! *TIP: Houston and NJ does offer direct flights to Palm Springs Airport. BUT keep in mind it is usually more expensive. We would suggest comparing price of direct flight to Palm Springs v.s. flight to LAX + rental car.
Please check the "STAY" tab in menu bar above to see our favorite hotels in Palm Springs! *TIP: Palm Springs also has the best AirBnB's! Many of them are mid-century/retro vibes. If you do decide to get an AirBnB, make sure it is in Palm Springs and not other cities such as Indio. We also suggest an AirBnB with a pool because...it's freaking Palm Springs and you should be floating in a pool everyday other than our wedding day!
For the wedding, please plan to arrive either early morning on the wedding day (Saturday the 8th) or the day before (Friday the 7th). This is because our wedding day starts at 1:30 PM, so if you're flying into LAX, keep in mind it is an additional 2 HR - 3 HR drive (depending on traffic) from LAX to Palm Springs. And we don't want that one person who decided to risk it and walk in...while we are saying our vows to each other...sobbing...don't be that person. As for how long should you stay, that is completely up to you! If you want to make a vacation out of it, we would suggest 2-3 days as there is so much to do in Palm Springs/Joshua Tree/Pioneer town and etc (check out our "THINGS TO DO" tab). *WEDDING PARTY: Please arrive on the 7th for rehearsal at the venue at 3 PM and then rehearsal dinner at 5:30 PM.
Technically...no...but JUST DO IT. AND TAXI, YES! Allow us to explain; the venue is in a private residence area, they said they prefer not allowing uber (specially Uber + Lyft) rides to the venue. You definitely won't be able to drive to the venue as well in your own car since it is a private residence street and we are allowed up to 6 cars parked (which all vendors will be using). BUT, you can take a taxi (and secretly take an Uber)!! Also, most hotels in Palm Springs have a free shuttle! You might be able to take advantage of that to take you to the wedding but it doesn't run too late, so you will most likely Uber/taxi back to your hotel.
Unfortunately, no. This is because our dream venue has a huge pool, and per the venue rules: children 12 and under are prohibited to enter the premises. Why? Because the pool has no gates/life guards and it is considered a hazard/liability to the venue. We suggest if you can't find a sitter back home, you can still bring your beautiful babies and hire a sitter at your AirBnB/Hotel in Palm Springs for the day of our wedding. There are also daycares in the area as well. We also know some guests who are doing either of these suggestions because you won't want to miss this wedding, y'all!!!!! PARENTS NIGHT OUT!!!!
Our wedding is intimate + on the smaller side. Venue has a max capacity of 100 people and we can not add any more guests other than those that are invited (which are our absolute closest family + friends). RSVP will show exactly who is invited. We ask that you kindly respect our wishes and can't wait to see you all there! Thank you!!
Sadly, no :(. The only animal that will be there is our dog, Archie (which we had to desperately get approved with the venue and we are so happy they accepted our little dude)!!!
NO...hopefully! Palm Springs is only unbearable during the summer (hence, why we chose December). Last year on the same date as our wedding, it was 79 degrees as the high and 65 degrees as the low. But, the day before was high of 73 degrees and low was in the 50s. So, it could vary around there! *TIP: please bring a jacket because we are in the desert and it can get super chilly at night! if you are one of those "I'M ALWAYS COLD" type person...bring a thick jacket for evening.
NO. However, there is a CIGAR area, just follow the signs during dessert time ("VIVA CUBA!"- Alissa).

YAAASSS!!! That is another reason why we LOVE Palm Springs! Most of the hotel pools in Palm Springs are open to the public, such as; The Arrive, Ace Hotel, The Saguaro. However, some of the higher end hotels such as; The Parker, The Avalon Hotel, do NOT allow outside guests. Feel free to call the hotel ahead of time just to make sure. *TIP: Restaurants in hotels are mostly all open to the public :)!
