Daniel Kelley

Groom

Daniel was born in 1986 to David Kelley and Tena (Offill) Brown. He grew up on the opposite end of the school clique spectrum as Alissa and was more likely to be inciting a riot in the lunch room than enjoying the latest sheet music delivery. Daniel grew up surrounded by family and claims to be his grandparents' favorites on both sides! He enjoyed many a summer evening playing in the creek with his cousins and best buddies. An avid dirt bike rider, Daniel was sponsored by several companies and raced before joining the Army at the age of 23. In the Army, he was trained as a long-range marksman but spent the majority of his service time as a mortarman. He spent time in Germany and on deployment in Afghanistan during this eight years of service. Daniel is a small-business owner and local swimming pool builder and cleaner extraordinaire.

Alissa Hooper

Bride

Alissa was born in Michigan in 1991 to Bill and Becky Hooper. She was in many musicals, clubs and marching band in high school. She went to Michigan State University for her bachelor's and earned her master's from Colorado State University, where she gained a +1 grad school surprise (Cade). She moved to Texas in 2018 shortly before losing her mother to pancreatic cancer. She lived in Dallas for three years before moving to Van Alstyne. Alissa is very close with her siblings, Krista (who lives in Michigan) and Kale (who lives in Louisiana). She works in corporate communications at NCR Atleos. Alissa's hobbies include fitness, travel and family time. Her dream is to buy and Airbnb properties in prime vacation locations and open a cat cafe.

Daniel and Lee really only started hanging out in recent years but their love story blossomed quickly. They truly build each other up and love on each other.

"Liss n Leesh" met when Alisha moved to Central Elementary in fifth grade. The only time Alissa EVER got in trouble was talking to her. They became close in high school and have been best friends since shortly after graduating. They're the ying to each others' yang.

Cody Coonce

Cody served in the Army with Daniel and is Mr. Reliable when you need somebody. He's currently working in the oil field in South Dakota but makes at least a trip or two down each year to come visit.

Becca Young

Becca lives in the neighborhood next to ours is down for all the TikTok and golf cart shenanigans. We really just got to know each other in the past year and she is one of my favorite people on this earth!

Travis Zack

Groomsman

Travis served alongside Daniel as a mortarman in Afghanistan and relocated to Van Alstyne from California after their service together. Travis can be found either (A) getting Daniel into trouble or (B) saving Daniel's ass from trouble, but never in between. He is faithful, steady and always there when you need a friend.

Karlee Jean

Karlee is Alissa's niece and one of her best friends. They're only six years apart in age and in all of Alissa's happiest childhood memories, Karlee was there. Karlee lives in Michigan and is a caretaker for adults with special needs. She has the biggest heart ❤️

Sammy Lee Lawson

Sammy and Daniel grew up on the East side of town together and could be found stealing beers from unsuspecting (read: likely, suspecting) neighbors' garage fridges together. They're two peas in a pod and no matter how long they go without seeing each other it's like time has never passed whenever they're together.

Jour is my OG BFFL. One of my favorite pictures in the world is us sitting in a leaf pile together in my backyard from before I could even walk well. We became close in in fifth grade and have had unlimited sleepovers playing the Sims and board games and waking her dear mother up laughing too hard. She is the most selfless person I have ever met in my life and I am blessed to call her my lifelong bestie.

Dusty Mayer

Dusty also moved to VA from East Texas after their time in the Army and helped operate a nonprofit for veterans alongside Daniel. He currently works with Daniel for Splash Squad pool cleaning and maintenance. When not at work or with his fam, you can catch him on the golf course.

Kat Mayer

Kat has been Alissa's ride or die since moving to Van Alstyne. Many an evening have been spent together at Taco Factory or Cooley Bay. Kat and Alissa enjoy studying God's word together and encouraging each other in their faith... and drinking wine.

Dustin Humphrey

Dustin was senior to Daniel in the Army and they DID NOT get along while enlisted. That said, I think they are both much more chill now and have grown to truly love and appreciate each other. Dustin lives in Arkansas but makes trips to Texas to visit with his family a few times a year.

On our wedding day, I'll not only be gaining a husband, but a stepdaughter! Konstance is 14 and has been such a blessing to me. She tries to be a good sport and entertain my love to go outside and try new foods, she likes goes to the gym with me and I can't wait to support her in all her extra curriculars when she's in high school next year!

Ben designs pools for Daniel's construction company and they have become quite the partners in crime. They can be found together most weekdays, if not with customers, then at a sports bar, undoubtedly having a very serious business meeting.

Meg and Alissa have worked together since 2018 and have done all sorts of growing together as people and professionally. Meg is my "work wife" and we have been blessed to go on quite a few adventures together, from Little Rock, to Fredericksburg, to Broken Bow and beyond.

Chris Brown

Chris is Daniel's little brother, which is honestly a pretty tough job in itself, especially when growing up. Despite countless fist fights, they are and have always been great friends who can count on each other.

Abby was one of Alissa's roommates at Michigan State and thank God because we would probably have never crossed paths otherwise! Abby and I are true adventure buddies and love a good hike whenever we're together. When in Michigan, we love to boat, fish and swim.

Dillon is Daniel's brother-in-law and is co-owner of Splash Squad pool services with Daniel. He is always down for a game of golf or a backyard BBQ.
