Flight
o Aspen/Pitkin County Airport is the easiest way to get to the Snowmass/ Aspen area (only (15) minutes from Snowmass and (10) minutes from downtown Aspen). o Nearly all hotels provide complimentary shuttles to and from the airport. o Alternatively, we recommend pre-arranging ground transportation by taxi (High Mountain Taxi, at 970.925.8294, is an easy go to). o The rental car companies are all located at the airport as well, if you decide to go that route. o The RFTA bus service is free and has a stop right at the airport. It will be about a 20 minute bus ride to Snowmass. https://www.rfta.com/routes/roaring-fork-valley/
Flight
Eagle/Vail Airport is another airport option that is only 1.5 hours from Snowmass. Sometimes flights are a bit cheaper here than the Aspen airport, however there is no public transportation from here to Snowmass so a rental car or taxi will be necessary.
Flight
o The cheapest option for flights and rental cars but a ~3.5/4 hour drive from Snowmass. o Driving through Colorado in the summertime is beautiful. If you choose to fly into Denver (DIA) and rent a car, you can expect the drive to take approximately 3.5/4 hours. o You can get to the Snowmass/ Aspen area via I-70 through Glenwood Springs or by taking the scenic Independence Pass. Independence Pass is a gorgeous drive if you have the time! This was a favorite drive of TJ and Alison when they were living between Snowmass and Boulder.
Travel Note
o We recommend renting a car for this trip to ensure you can get to all your mountain adventures! While the bus is a viable option for getting between Snowmass and Aspen, it won’t necessarily give you access to hiking, fishing, rafting and any other activities you chose. o You can rent a car at any of the airports listed above. o If you stay in one of the places listed on this site, you will be able to walk to Snowmass base village and the Snowmass mall which has a variety of restaurants and shops as well as easy access to the Snowmass gondola. o You can walk to the Viceroy Hotel from all of the hotels listed on this site.
Travel Note
o High Mountain Taxi is a reliable taxi service in the valley. Please note if going between Aspen and Snowmass, it can be on the pricier side. 970.925.8294 o Please note that ubers are hard to get in the valley and sometimes there are none at all.
