While it is not 100% necessary, if you plan to go on hikes or explore the surrounding area outside of Snowmass you will want a rental car. The RFTA bus is an easy and reliable option. Ubers exist but are very limited so we wouldn't count on taking one.
All hotels listed on the website are walkable to the Viceroy Hotel.
The wedding will be adults only so your little ones will not be able to attend.
August in Snowmass/Aspen is warm and sunny basically all the time. Temperatures can reach the high 80s during the day but cool off into the 50s or 60s in the mornings and evenings. Expect the possibility of afternoon thunderstorms but they are usually short-lived. We recommend bringing a bathing suit, hiking shoes, a rain/wind jacket, and layers for the cooler mornings and nights.
o You'll be staying at an elevation above 8,000 ft. while in Snowmass (and/or Aspen). o Here are a few recommendations to help acclimate to the higher elevation so you can enjoy your entire trip! * Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Begin drinking lots of water (2-3) days prior to your arrival in Colorado and continuously throughout your stay. * Alcohol will affect you faster than normal. (1) drink = (3) drinks. Your body will process alcohol faster than at home so be mindful when drinking especially the first night when your body is getting acclimated to the altitude. * We highly encourage you to review the link provided below for additional tips & tricks to altitude acclimation! https://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/altitude-sickness.html
