If you’ve never been, Cades Cove is a beautiful, historic valley tucked in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It’s one of the most popular spots in the park — known for its scenic 11-mile loop road, stunning mountain views, and frequent wildlife sightings (think deer, black bears, and wild turkeys!). It’s also a special place for us — it’s where we got engaged! Cades Cove is about a 1-hour drive from Pigeon Forge, and well worth the trip if you’re in the mood for nature, history, or just a peaceful afternoon surrounded by incredible views.
The Island is a fun entertainment and shopping spot in the heart of Pigeon Forge. It has restaurants, unique shops, and attractions like The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, a 200-foot Ferris wheel with awesome views. There’s also a show fountain with lights and music, plus arcades, sweet shops, and places to relax. It’s a great place to hang out, day or night!
If you’re into sipping and sampling, you’ll love the variety of moonshine and wine tastings available throughout Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. There are tons of spots to try local flavors — from sweet to strong and everything in between. Landon’s personal favorite is Tennessee Cider Co., located right on the main strip in Gatlinburg. If you're into hard cider, it's definitely worth a visit
Pigeon Forge is known for its wide variety of dinner shows — most are family-friendly and especially fun for kids, but they’re also entertaining for adults! From comedy and music to thrilling stunts and themed performances, there’s something for everyone. One of our personal favorites is Dolly Parton’s Stampede — a high-energy show featuring horse-riding stunts, music, and a four-course Southern meal. It’s part rodeo, part musical, and full of fun!
