Jack and Alison first met on Memorial Day in 2021. Alison, who had been living in Portland for two years, suggested they go out for coffee. Jack, who moved to Maine less than a month prior, agreed, and they met at Coffee By Design on Diamond Street for the first of what would become many coffee dates. Neither expected to stay in Maine long-term, but both fell in love with their new home state whilst falling in love with each other. Let's fast forward to three hundred takeout coffees later (Alison let Jack know early on Taylor Swift would be the soundtrack of most of their car rides), and Jack and Alison continued to develop their relationship. They spent their time together enjoying the food scene in Portland, going to the movies, hiking, taking walks with Timber, skiing, celebrating the Mets and Jets (few) wins, turning their apartment into a pizzeria, and learning more about one another. On December 21, 2024, with the help of both their families and Timber, Jack asked Alison to be his partner for life at Wolfe's Neck State Park in Brunswick, Maine. She of course said yes, and they are excited to make it official this May. It's now been more than four years since their first date, and they still love chatting over a cup of coffee (often accompanied by a board game) and are excited to be getting married in the place they both now call home. And they can't wait to celebrate with all their family and friends!
