In Chinese tradition, it's customary to marry on an auspicious date. So though we intended to may in Major Cold dà hán 大寒 as that's when we got engaged, we had to wed on the first auspicious Saturday. Our date happens to fall on the Chinese New Year. In Western culture, weddings usually happen on Saturdays. Our wedding date falls on the Chinese New Year of the Wood Dragon. 我们选择在龙年的大年初一举行婚礼！在中国传统中，婚礼要选择良辰吉日。我们在兔年的“大寒”订婚，而在西方文化中，婚礼通常在订婚日的第二年，同时在星期六举行。因此我们的婚礼日期正好是龙年的农历新年也是一个周六。
