Just 15–20 minutes from Murray and the hotels listed on our Travel page, Big Cottonwood Canyon is one of our favorite local spots—especially in October! Take a scenic drive through the canyon to enjoy Utah's breathtaking fall colors, stop at the overlooks, or spend the day exploring one of the many beautiful hiking trails.
Gardner Village
Located just a short drive from Murray, Gardner Village is a charming shopping village filled with locally owned boutiques, delicious restaurants, and seasonal events. In October, the village comes alive with festive Halloween decorations, making it a fun stop for guests of all ages.
Oktoberfest
If you're spending the weekend with us, we highly recommend checking out Snowbird's Oktoberfest—it's one of our absolute favorite annual traditions! Our wedding weekend happens to be the festival's final weekend, making it the perfect time to experience live music, authentic German food, local vendors, and Utah's beautiful fall scenery.
