Athens is about an hour and a half Northeast of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Another option could be flying to Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport in South Carolina and then driving to Athens.
If you're driving down, it should be an easy find. If you're flying, you will need to rent a car at the airport to make it to Athens, since there is no public transportation option.
Athens is a college town! It's quirky with plenty of places to stay and to visit. Especially downtown! We chose a weekend of an away UGA game, so hotels should be available.
Below are some hotel recommendations closest to the venue. We have only stayed in the first one, but when searching, we were mindful to look for places that had good reviews (especially from marginalized groups). AirBnB and other options are also available!
We are going to try to get a discount code from some hotels, and we will update the site if we succeed.
