Newcastle International Airport

This is the most direct airport for our venue. It is a half hour drive to Lumley Castle. Newcastle-upon-Tyne, is also a great historic city to stay and explore if you choose.

Take a twenty minute cab to Lumley Castle from central Newcastle (thirty minutes from Airport).

Edinburgh Airport

If you are making a trip out of it, Edinburgh is a gorgeous city - and one of our favorites - to experience, and every August is home to the famous Edinburgh Fringe (see more info on our 'Things to do' page). Edinburgh is further north than Newcastle so you will need to factor in a train from Edinburgh to Newcastle or Durham.

Again, if you making a trip out of it London is an incredible city (and also the cheapest to fly into). It would then be a three-hour train ride to Durham.

Booking

We highly recommend booking as far in as advance as possible as both train and hotel costs do go up significantly closer to the time.

This is the venue! They have a variety of rooms including courtyard and castle. You will have to call and say you are part of the Krakauer/McGrane wedding to get a discount. There are also good deals on Booking.com.

This pub is only a seven minute drive to Lumley and is where we will be celebrating the next day (See 'The Next Day... Pub!' in Schedule). Call or Email Emma at info@thelambton.com and tell them you're part fo the Krakauer/McGrane wedding for a discounted price.

This hotel has a seven-minute drive to the venue and is right next to a lovely pub 'The Church Mouse'. It is also one of the cheapest hotels in the area.
