Texas Capitol
The Texas State Capitol offers free 30-minute tours, or feel free to pick up a self-guided tour pamphlet and explore at your own pace. Between the Capitol's amazing architecture and its 22-acres of historic monuments, it's absolutely worth seeing.
BARTON SPRINGS POOL
Barton Springs is a treasured swimming hole in Austin. If the weather turns hot, it's the perfect way to cool off as the pool is fed from underground springs with an average temperature of 68 degrees year-round!
South Congress Avenue
South Congress has a huge variety of boutiques and restaurants. Whether you're in the mood for window shopping or try on some classic Texas boots, it's well worth the trip! If all that shopping and wandering works up an appetite, there's plenty of food trucks and restaurants (like local favorites Home Slice Pizza and Guerros).
Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
The center features more than 900 species of native Texas plants in both garden and natural settings. There are about 2 miles of trail through the gardens to explore.
Rainey Street Historic District
Our favorite street in the city! Rainey Street is great place to enjoy an afternoon or evening drink. Many of the watering holes here are constructed inside historic bungalows with amazing patios.
6th Street
The 6th Street Entertainment District is made up of the section of 6th Street that is known historically as Pecan Street and by college kids as “Dirty Sixth”. At night, the bars open their doors and on weekend nights the street is blocked off to cars. High heels, cheap drinks and loud music flood the streets. It’s the perfect destination for a 21st birthday or Bachelor(ette) Party.
Bats at Sunset on S. Congress Bridge
From March to October, 1.5 million bats emerge nightly from narrow crevices in the underside of the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge. They usually start to come out around 20 minutes before sundown and it's such a cool sight!
Broken Spoke Dancehall
One of the last original Texas dance halls, the Broken Spoke has endured for more than 50 years!

Mount Bonnell
