Travel

The Wedding Website of Alice Nguyen and David Schechter
Santa Teresa is a bit off the beaten path. Getting there takes a few steps, but we promise it’s worth it!

Flight

Step 1: Fly into San José

Book your international flight into Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO). This is the main airport in Costa Rica and your starting point for getting to Santa Teresa. - From the East Coast, you can typically arrive earlier in the day and connect onward the same day - From the West Coast, many flights arrive later in the evening. If so, you will likely need to spend one night in San José before continuing

Flight

Step 2: Take a Domestic Flight

From San José, you’ll take a short hopper flight to Cobano Airport (ACO), the closest airport to Santa Teresa. These flights only operate during daylight hours. We recommend leaving 2-3 hours between your SJO arrival and ACO departure to allow time for customs and baggage. If your flight into San José arrives too late to make the connection, plan to stay overnight and take a morning flight to Cobano the next day. Flight time: ~30 minutes Airlines: Sansa Airlines or Costa Rica Green Airways Small planes, super scenic -- sit by the window if you can

Shuttle

Step 3: Shuttle to the Hotel

December 10, 2026 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Once you land in Cóbano, we’ll help arrange a shuttle to bring you directly to Hotel Nantipa. Drive time: ~30 minutes

Hotel

Step 4: Hotel Nantipa

Main Street, Santa Teresa, Provincia de Puntarenas, Costa Rica

This is where all wedding events will take place. Once you arrive, you’re officially in vacation mode. We’ve secured a full buyout of Hotel Nantipa for our wedding weekend from December 10–13. Guests staying at Nantipa should plan to check in on December 10 and check out on December 13, as rooms are reserved as part of a required three-night stay during the buyout. Additional nearby accommodations will also be available for guests staying elsewhere in Santa Teresa, with more flexibility to book accommodations and travel dates that work best for them.
