We visited this museum a few years ago on a family trip and had a blast! (Get it?) It's a fun and exciting way to learn about Oak Ridge, the Secret City, and its atomic past, as well as the future of nuclear energy and the science that makes it happen. If you're the kind of nerd who likes that sort of thing...
This beautiful forest is what made me fall in love with Oak Ridge. We go walk under the trees every chance we get, and there's always something new to see. With miles of walking trails showcasing many different plants and ecosystems, it's easy to get lost, in a good way!
Knoxville hosted the World's Fair in 1982, and since then this awesome park has become a favorite hangout spot. Green lawns, fountains, playgrounds, and festival stages are all connected by paved, accessible sidewalk paths. It's a beautiful place to relax and take it all in.
We came here and inadvertently walked right into Oktoberfest! It looks like a German castle, the beer is delicious, and the food is great! Roll out the barrel, and we'll have a barrel of fun! (This is also the place the nice old man taught Ali to Polka dance, so you never know what adventure might await you!)
If you love fresh, local produce, flowers, baked goods, salsas, and artisan crafts, (let's be honest, who doesn't?) take your little hipster self down to the farmer's market! Just bring me back some zucchini bread, will you?
