Historians say Shakespeare wrote his best plays while quarantining during the Bubonic Plague. Similarly, Ali and Andrew typed out their wittiest flirtations to each other while quarantining for COVID-19! Ali and Andrew returned to their respective parent’s homes in March 2020. Many nights of watching the news and playing monopoly with their parents grew tiresome and Ali and Andrew booted up an online dating app for entertainment. All it took was one glance at Andrew’s profile for Ali to be intrigued by the strange man eating a pancake in bed (check it out in the gallery tab). Eventually numbers were exchanged and the conversation shifted to text. Andrew was feeling a little too confident and sent a "Cat Fact" text. Which Ali thinking it was spam almost blocked immediately. While still respecting requirements for social distancing at the time, Ali and Andrew embarked on several virtual dates via Zoom and FaceTime throughout the months of April and May. Andrew sought to incorporate agendas into these meetings to keep Ali interested and on track with his long term plans. The couple met for the first time in Washington D.C. in June with a scenic dinner planned. Thanks to their diligent preparation they were ready to quickly embark on a serious relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend. Fast Forward ~3 years: They set out for a birthday trip to celebrate Ali in July 2023. Keeping with the themes Andrew provided a draft agenda to Ali which included: 2 hikes 3 brewery stops 1 sailboat cruise Unbeknownst to Ali, Andrew had another agenda item: asking her to marry him. He knew her answer was a 50/50 chance, so he planned to propose at the top of Mansfield Mountain after a grueling two hour climb. Ali was too tired to think long and hard about her answer and reacted with tears and screams which in the moment Andrew interpreted as fear and anguish instead of joy. They enjoyed a magical rest of the weekend up north and came back to the Washington D.C. area to celebrate with friends and family. They are excited to have you join for additional celebrations on November 2nd, 2024 in Richmond, VA.
