Estes Park is the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, so while you're here, we encourage you to take some time to explore one of America's most iconic national parks. The park has a timed entry permit system, so please refer to the "view" button below in order to secure your pass to enter the park. Below are our favorite hikes, with their intensity level and mileage included: Sprague Lake Loop - Easy - 0.8 miles Alberta Falls Trail - Easy - 1.6 miles Lake Estes Trail - Easy - 4.0 miles Dream Lake Trail - Moderate - 2.0 miles Emerald Lake Trail - Moderate - 3.2 miles (pictured at the top of this page!) Lake Haiyaha - Moderate - 4.0 miles Ypsilon Lake Trail - Hard - 9.5 miles We encourage you to download the AllTrails app for more information on any of the above hikes, as well as detailed maps of each trail. Hiking not for you? No problem! There are plenty of scenic drives through the park where you can see beautiful scenery and wildlife, including moose and large herds of elk.
