Travel & Where to Stay

The Wedding Website of Alexy DaHarb and Cameron Borch
Below, you’ll find detailed information about travel and transportation. If you arrive in Athens, you have the option of flying or taking a ferry to reach the island of Paros. If you’re planning to explore Athens, we suggest taking the high-speed ferry to Paros. Most Athens hotels are much closer to the port than the airport, so you’ll have more time for a last-minute gyro. But if you’re all about getting to Paros ASAP, a quick flight from Athens might be your best bet. Pro tip: If you choose to fly, consider booking a later departure from Athens to Paros—just in case your travel day goes sideways. And if you’re super early, you can usually bump up your flight for a small fee. Oh, and one more thing—make sure your passport isn’t on the brink of expiration! Some countries (and airlines) require at least six months of validity beyond your trip dates. We’d hate for you to miss out because of an outdated passport!

Getting to Paros - Flights

We suggest using Google flights to look for your best flight options. If you put in your origin, and then "Europe" as your destination, you will find the cheapest options for getting to Europe. You can then find even cheaper flights from most European airports to Athens, Santorini, or Mykonos. There aren't any International flights to Paros, Greece. However, Paros (PAS) does have multiple flights a day with Aegean and Olympic Airways from Athens (~40 min. flight). When looking for flights to Paros, make sure you have the correct airport code (PAS). If you just put in "Paros" as the destination, it'll give you flight options to both Santorini and Mykonos as well. Mykonos (45 min. ferry) and Santorini (~1hr 40min to ~3hrs depending on the type of ferry) are also nearby and do have direct International flights from several European cities making them nice stops en route to Paros. AIRPORT CODES: - PAS (Paros) - JMK (Mykonos) - JTR (Santorini) - ATH (Athens) You can take a connecting flight from Athens to Paros, the duration is approx. 30 minutes. The Paros Airport is located 9 kilometers southwest of Parikia, in Voutakos Agkairias. Airport Code: PAS Olympic Air: https://www.olympicair.com/el Aegean Airlines: https://en.aegeanair.com/ SkyExpress https://www.skyexpress.gr/en/flights

Getting Around Athens

Taxi's are the easiest way to get around Athens, and especially back and forth from the airport and port of Piraeus. Our wedding planners recommended using Terry, who is one of the owners of CatTaxi Company. CATTaxi.com.gr Tel: 6982656179 http://www.cattaxi.gr/ Uber does not work well in Greece, however, it's a great tool to use to get a price estimate for what you should negotiate down to for the taxis. Please note: If you are planning to travel to Paros from Athens on the same day, take travel time to the ports into consideration. The travel time from Athens International Airport to Piraeus Port is approximately 1 hour and to Rafina Port is approximately 30 minutes.

Getting Around Paros

We will provide transportation to official wedding events (i.e. rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception) from certain access points in Naousa. For getting around Paros, there are taxis and buses readily available. However, for freedom and mobility on the island, renting a car or ATV is a good option. While there are plenty of activities in Naousa accessible by foot, Paros has many things to that are a 15-20 minute drive from town. DRIVING TIMES: Ferry terminal to Naousa: ~20 min PAS Airport to Naousa: ~30 min. Public bus: The cheapest option to get around the island, with a well-organized network of buses that connect the main towns, villages, and beaches. The bus station in Parikia is located on the waterfront. During the summer, the bus service runs more frequently to accommodate the influx of visitors. Car or motorbike rental: A flexible option that allows you to explore the island at your own pace and discover smaller roads. However, roads can be busy in July and August, especially around Parikia and Naousa, and parking can be difficult to find. ATV: A great way to explore the island off-road and find your own beaches. Scooter rental: A good option for discovering the island, but traffic can be intense around Paraikia and Naoussa. Private transfer: A way to get around Paros. Ferry: A way to island hop between the Cyclades. Some recommend pre-booking ferry tickets, especially during the high season.
