Wedding Party

Just like they've walked with us through our relationship, meet the family members and friends who will walk down the aisle with us on our wedding day. We couldn't be more honored to be in such wonderful company.

Kyrstin Herpin

Matron of Honor

Kyrstin and I met through her husband, Roy Herpin, when we were all still in college at GVSU. Roy tried hard for months to get us to bond, until one semester, Kyrstin and I had a class together. We thought we were on the friendship path, until I realized I had overbooked my credits and had to drop out a couple of weeks later, much to Roy's chagrin. Thankfully, our friendship was meant to be. We started hanging out and became inseparable. When Kyrstin and Roy moved to Texas, I joined and lived with them for a year. When I say that year was one of the most fun of my life, I mean it. We weathered 7 days of storms and flooding during Hurricane Harvey, I helped Kyrstin tell Roy when she got pregnant with Charlotte, and she was there to celebrate us when Alex proposed. She's simply the best.

Colin White

Best Man

I met Colin in Kindergarten at Jamestown Elementary on one of the very first days of school when we exchanged phone numbers. If I remember correctly, it was part of a classroom activity to get to know your classmates since we were all "new kids." I would have never known at that time that I had just met my oldest friend, but it makes perfect sense today. All the way through K-12, we attended the same schools in Hudsonville, and often shared classes and similar interests, particularly in soccer. Come freshman year, however, I had to make a choice between soccer and tennis, and despite pleas from Colin and several others, I made the move to tennis. From then on, our friendship waned a bit as we had different commitments and friend groups, but I always knew that Colin would be in my corner no matter what. Now several years post college, we talk as frequently as the early days of our friendship while living 1000 miles apart. I'm incredibly thankful for our reconnection in recent years, and am honored Colin will stand by me as my best man.

Danielle Johnson

Bridesmaid

My sophomore year of college, I had three or four of the same classes with Danielle, which at a college as big as GVSU, was a little wild. At some point, we just accepted our friendship before it ever even formed; we were going the same direction and getting the same degree. But anyone who knows Danielle knows how incredibly kind and friendly she is, so our friendship did form rather quickly. The next year, we were roommates at 901 Park St. We enjoyed a lot of dinners at Stella's, I watched her relationship with Eli begin and grow, and was there to welcome them home after they got engaged. I was a bridesmaid in their wedding, and now relish any time we can grab to hop on Zoom. Friends like Danielle are always there, even if we don't get to see one another as much as we wish we could.

Wyatt Leland

Groomsman

While Wyatt and I have much less history than my other groomsmen, he is unique in that he is my future brother in law. Outside of Leland Family gatherings, we haven't spent much time together, but it didn't take me long to see he was a good guy with unlimited potential as a person. As it turns out we both played Tennis in high school, and while we haven't yet played a match, I look forward to the day when we make that happen. In the meantime though, I am thankful to be in his company as my groomsman and future brother in law.

Kaitlin Wesneski

Bridesmaid

Kaitlin and I met at Christian Brothers Automotive and from my very first day I knew we would become great friends. We bonded quickly over our love for cats and true crime podcasts. We often spend time with Kaitlin and her fiancé, Elijah, going out to eat, to the rodeo, to the theatre and so much more. I can’t wait for Kaitlin to stand up with me at my wedding and then to turn around and stand up at hers in February 2023!

Nate Sund

Groomsman

My friendship with Nate started back in the days of church youth group. It became clear that we had a lot in common outside of going to the same church, especially in our love for Nintendo and Legos. To this very day we still share these hobbies and talk about them often, especially considering we are currently coworkers! If only our jobs were as much fun as Nintendo and Lego's, but I digress. As it is, I'm incredibly thankful for Nate's continued friendship and support of my and Paige's journey together.

Sydney Wing

Bridesmaid

Sydney is my youngest cousin and my absolute favorite person to spend family gatherings with. I've watched her grow up through all of life's stages, and couldn't be more proud of the young woman she's becoming. From taking photos in the family room, to spending time by the pool and playing board games, Syd and I share too many memories to count.

Cameron Smith

Groomsman

My friendship with Cameron dates back to when we were both in 6th grade English class. Neither of us were incredibly interested in the class, but at that time, we were both interested in doodling and soccer, so naturally we became close friends. By freshman year, we were hanging out after school whenever we got the chance. We had different friend groups through high school, but that didn't matter since we both had a (probably unhealthy) passion for 2 things: Taco Bell and the video game "Halo Reach." No matter what was happening to either of us, whether it was a tough sport loss or tough breakup, Cameron and I always had each other's backs, and that holds true to this day.

Charlotte & Haisley Herpin

Flower Girls

Charlee and Haisley are our sweet nieces, and are the daughters of Roy and Kyrstin! We couldn't imagine walking down the aisle without their fun, beautiful, and bright spirits leading the way. Getting to be part of their lives is one of our greatest joys in life.

Roy Herpin

Officiant

The very first decision we made for our wedding was asking Roy to be our officiant. Roy and I (Paige) have been friends since 2013, when we both worked for the same Cutco office in Grand Rapids. He got a job there to save up money to buy Kyrstin's engagement ring. If you know Roy, you know becoming his friend is the easiest thing you could ever do. So when Alex joined the party and moved to Texas, we meshed our best friendships and have all been close ever since. We hang out at least twice a month and have the absolute best memories of our lives with the two of them. It would be hard to find an officiant who knows as much about us as a couple as Roy. We're completely honored and thrilled that he'll be marrying us.
