The city of Holland spent millions for heated streets, so enjoy a snow-free stroll down 8th street in historic downtown. It's home to a variety of shops, restaurants and galleries, so there's something there for everyone. Our favorite restaurants in the city are Crazy Horse Steakhouse, the Fat Burrito, Windmill Restaurant, Boatwerks Waterfront, Anna's House, Tacos El Cunado #6, and Crust 54.
West Michigan is known as the Craft Beer hub of the United States, and a trip here isn't complete without a pint or two. Located on 8th street downtown, New Holland Brewing is a pub style restaurant serving up American classics and everybody's favorite Dragon's Milk stout. If dark beer isn't your thing, we also enjoy New England style Hazy River and Tangerine Space Machine, when its available.
While the village itself sadly isn't open during the winter months, you can still take part in Holland's rich Dutch culture at the Nelis Dutch Village wooden clog shop. Get them now and save them for summer when you can tiptoe through the tulips during Tulip Time once again.
Lake Michigan is just as beautiful in the winter as it is during the summer. Bundle up and head out to Tunnel Park to take the icy views and live the Frozen remake of your dreams. (Please be safe and admire the ice from afar. We do NOT recommend walking out onto the ice as there is no way to confirm how thick it is.)
