The closest airport is Porto (OPO), about 1 hour 15 minutes by car or 2 hours by train. Direct flights to Porto may be limited, so check your preferred airport for options.
For more flight choices, consider Lisbon (LIS), which is about 3 hours 40 minutes by car from the wedding venue. If exploring Portugal before the wedding, flying into Lisbon and making stops along the way is a great option.
We recommend renting a car (or coordinating with others) for flexibility and exploring the area. If you take the train, be sure to arrange a taxi pickup. Uber does not exist in the Douro Valley.
