Alex and Will met freshman year at the University of Georgia in physics class. At the time, Alex was Puppy Raising for the Guide Dog Foundation, and Will couldn’t resist asking to pet the adorable puppy by her side. What started as a simple conversation quickly turned into a friendship that would grow throughout college and eventually into forever. From navigating classes, late-night study sessions, experiencing Disney together, and all the ups and downs of life, Will became Alex’s best friend and constant source of support. Through every season of life, he has always brought laughter, encouragement, and unwavering love into her world.

Alex and London met while serving together in guest services at church. Alex’s ride home left him and London offered to drive him, an act of kindness that sparked a lifelong friendship. London joined Alex’s small group, a wildly unique rag-tag group of friends. Through thick and thin, they’ve had each-other’s back. London has supported Alex through life’s ups and downs, bantering along the way. To this day, they still have weekly debates covering politics, football, Braves baseball, scripture, and occasionally aliens… conversations that somehow never seem to end. Alex was honored to stand beside London in his wedding, making it especially meaningful to now have London standing beside him on this day.

Alex and Mica grew up together but didn’t truly become friends until middle school, where they quickly bonded over being trumpet players in band. As fellow section leaders and nearly inseparable best friends, they became known to everyone as the original “Alex².” Whether they were spending time at their favorite coffee shop after school, getting into all kinds of shenanigans, or simply hanging out together, the two were almost always side by side. Over the years, their friendship only continued to grow through countless memories, laughter, and adventures that was from Alex introducing Mica to Star Wars, to trips to Disney, to watching the final movies of both the Hobbit and Harry Potter series together. From middle school through all of life’s milestones, Mica has been a constant friend and source of joy in Alex’s life. After having the honor of standing beside Mica as one of her bridesmaids, Alex is so excited and grateful to finally have Mica standing beside her on her special day.

Growing up as an only child, Alex never imagined that at 23 years old he would suddenly gain a biological little brother, but that’s exactly what happened. Fisher has been an incredible and supportive younger brother. He was the first person in Alex’s immediate family to meet lady Alex and her family, and one of the very few people who knew a proposal was coming long before it happened. If you see Fisher around the island, there’s a good chance he’s either out on the golf course absolutely tearing it up or finding a way to catch the biggest fish of the day. Alex is incredibly grateful to have his little bro on his big day.

Although they are ten years apart in age, Alex and Katie have always shared a special sister-like bond. Alex has loved watching Katie grow up, experience life, and become the incredible person she is today. From the very beginning, the two have shared countless memories, laughter, and adventures together. Alex was also the very first person to give Katie riding lessons, unknowingly starting her on the lifelong “horsey” path. To this day, Katie lovingly blames Alex for both her horse obsession and her empty wallet! Through every stage of life, their bond has only continued to grow stronger as they encourage, support, and cheer each other on through every moment. After having the honor of standing beside Katie on her wedding day, Alex is so grateful to now have Katie standing beside her as she begins this next chapter.

Nathan and Alex became close friends growing through countless church trips. From whitewater rafting to adventures through the Appalachian Mountains complete with catfish nailed to trees, bluegrass, and mountain folklore the two have shared no shortage of memories. These days, much of their friendship revolves around weekly conversations about sports, heated fantasy football competition, and cheering on the Braves, Alabama football. Through every season of life, Nathan has always been a loyal and supportive friend. Alex was honored to stand beside Nathan in his wedding, making it especially meaningful to now have Nathan standing beside him on this day.

Alex and Helen met through the horse community in Georgia and quickly became close friends through weekly movie nights, endless Disney trip planning, and countless adventures together. Through every season of life, they have always been there for one another — celebrating life’s biggest moments and helping each other through the hardest ones. Alex was there when Helen met her husband, even making Helen share her location during their first date so she could be “on call” just in case! In return, Helen played a monumental role in Alex^2 relationship, as she was there the very first time they met. From exciting milestones to life’s lowest lows, Helen has remained a constant source of friendship, laughter, and support in Alex’s life. One thing is certain: whenever Alex and Helen are together, it quickly turns into a full-blown giggle fest. Alex is so grateful to have Helen standing beside her on such an important day!

Keith and Alex’s friendship began uniquely in middle school after both having a crush on the same girl. After both trading dances with the crush at the middle school Civil War Ball (yes, somehow this was an actual thing in Alabama schools), they wisely decided friendship was the better option and the rest was history.. In high school Keith and Alex ran track and cross country together before eventually becoming roommates in college. Keith helped Alex come out of his shell in high school and college.. maybe a little too much in college, where he and their friend Stephen consistently cast Alex in uniquely terrible movie cameos for film festivals and class projects. Even though life, distance, and family have made it conversations less frequent, Keith has always remained a loyal and reliable friend to Alex.

Alex and Madison met through Helen when she invited Alex to tag along to see the latest Star Wars movie release with her friend group that included Madison and they’ve been friends ever since. What started as a shared love for a galaxy far, far away quickly turned into a genuine friendship built on laughter, shared interests, and plenty of nerdy adventures. Since then, Alex and Madison have continued to bond over all things nerdy, from deep conversations about movies and fandoms to attending church together and enjoying themed dinners that always feel a little extra special. Whether they are planning the next play, movie outing, or their next big (nerdy) adventure, there is always something fun on the horizon when these two are together. Alex is so grateful to have Madison standing beside her on such an important day.

Blain and Alex met while Blain visited Athens with a mutual friend, David to run the Covid era “virtual” Milledge Mile that ended up in reality being 50+ people in-person racing on the UGA track. Blain became friends with both Alexes after David’s wedding, and ever since, it’s always an adventure whenever Blain comes to town, whether that means wineries, axe throwing, mixology, or somehow getting pulled into running club drama, it feels like we always end up learning more about our own town when he visits. Through both the fun moments and the difficult seasons, Blain has been an incredibly steady and supportive friend to both of Alexes, often serving as a voice of wisdom, encouragement, and perspective along the way.

Nick and Alex met early on when he reached out wanting to surprise Helen with dinner early on in their dating. They secretly planned everything together, and it was such a simple but thoughtful gesture that perfectly showed who he is: intentional, kind, and always wanting the people he loves to feel special. Nick is funny, outgoing, and has a way of making everyone feel included. He never meets a stranger, and more than anything, the way he loves Helen is exactly what every best friend hopes to see for someone they care about.

Cody and Alex pick on each other like siblings, and honestly, most of their conversations are made up of sarcasm, jokes, and spontaneous adventures until rollercoasters are involved, because then Alex is completely on her own. Behind all of the humor, Cody has one of the biggest hearts of anyone we know. He has helped Alex through some of the hardest parts of the past few years, always showing up, always checking in, and always looking out for the people he cares about.

Travis is more like a brother to Alex than a friend. Growing up, Travis’s parents were Alex’s youth group leaders, and Alex spent countless hours at their house over the years. Much of Alex’s taste in music, movies, and creativity was shaped by Travis, including the many ridiculous homemade movies they created growing up — usually featuring Alex playing some completely absurd character. Over the years, the two also shared countless adventures working on television shoots together, experiencing plenty of bizarre, hilarious, and unforgettable moments in the world of reality and docu-reality TV. Through every stage of life, Travis has been a mentor, a source of encouragement, someone who challenged Alex in his faith, and someone who always knows how to bring laughter into the room. Last year, Travis finally met bride-to-be Alex while attending the Oasis concert at the Rose Bowl, and the two immediately hit it off, laughing their way through Disneyland shenanigans and a rental car that seemed to have a mind of its own. Alex was honored to stand beside Travis at his wedding. And, having Travis stand beside him and Alex as both a groomsman and officiant makes this day even more meaningful.
