Our StoryOur Story

A long time ago in a running group not so far away… Our story started with the collapse of a chair and one questionable scouting report. And just like that, the adventure began. What started as a casual connection at group runs slowly turned into shared miles, mutual friends, inside jokes, and lingering conversations. Somewhere between the laughter, storytelling, New Girl episodes, and Star Wars cookbook nights (yes, that’s a real thing), we realized God was writing something far bigger than either of us expected. Running has always been woven into our story. It brought us together, gave us community, and gave us time to grow alongside one another. It continues to remind us that the best journeys are rarely about speed; they’re about who you’re beside along the way. We’re different in many ways, and that’s become one of our greatest blessings. Alex’s thoughtful and steady introverted nature perfectly balances Alex’s outgoing, energetic personality. Alex’s goal setting and spontaneous ideas mesh perfectly with Alex’s detailed follow through and thoughtful contemplation (Can you guess which Alex is which?). We’ve learned that God gives each of us different gifts for a reason, and together those differences make us stronger. Bound together by faith and gratitude, we share a desire to live generously, love people well, and extend the same grace we’ve been given. When we met, we each had different plans, expectations, and ideas about the future. But time and time again, God reminded us that His plans are greater than our own: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11 As we begin this next chapter, we’re especially grateful for the people who have supported, encouraged, and genuinely walked (or ran) beside us through life’s many seasons. Your love, presence, and steadfast support for us means more to us than we could ever fully express. We cannot wait to celebrate with all of you in Hawaii as we begin this adventure together. Mahalo for being part of our ʻohana as we start our next marathon … life.
