We were Six Flags college kids! Alex and I were interning with different teams, and our mutual manager took us out for dinner at 'Sweet Tomatoes'. We were introduced and took a picture together later into the season. Time passed, life happened, and we reconnected a few years later after finding a shared interest for traveling, from our Facebook pictures of Colorado. Fast forward a few months: Alex messaged me. It didn't occur to me that she might be interested in me, but was happy she wanted to reconnect! A mutual coworker / friend, Faaria, helped float the idea that I should ask her out, talking me into it and promising she'd say 'Yes'. Lucky for me, she did and I picked her up in downtown Milwaukee. The rest (as they say) is history :)
I met David interning at Six Flags Great America the summer of '14! We were both in the Operations Department, and we met for the first time at an intern dinner. I specifically remember him sitting to the left of me, and I thought he was funny, sweet and handsome! I knew I wanted to know more about him, so I asked our mutual friend Faaria if he was single. He was not, and I was also seeing someone, but I still wanted to keep in contact somehow. At the end of the summer during our "Ops Awards" ceremony, I knew it was my last chance. I asked Faaria to call him over to us so we could take a picture. I asked him to post it and add me on Facebook - and it worked! We stayed loosely connected over the years, occasionally wishing each other "Happy Birthday", but didn't reconnect until four years later. It's hard to explain, but I just had a gut feeling that I needed to talk to him. I felt like it was "time". I could see on Facebook that he was genuinely enjoying life, going to concerts and traveling. After we both went on a trip to Colorado around the same time, I took a chance and messaged him! From there, I used every excuse to reach out to him, and when I was nervous about asking him out, Faaria helped give him a gentle nudge ;) When he dropped me off after our first date on November 18th, 2017 I had a gut feeling that he was "the one". And I was right :)
