Since our wedding is during the holiday season, we have decided to make our dress code 'black tie optional'. Tuxedos and floor-length gowns are welcome, but not required. A dark suit and tie or a cocktail dress will fit right in. Have fun with the festive occasion!
If you are not staying overnight in the city and do not plan to use Uber or Lyft, there is a parking garage conveniently beneath the Wanamaker Building, where the Crystal Tea Room is located. There is no parking at St John's, so we recommend this as the best option. You will be just steps away from both the ceremony and reception locations! The entrance to the garage is off of Juniper Street, between Penn Square and Chestnut Street. Bear right onto Juniper Street from Penn Square and the garage will be on your left. There is another entrance to the garage on 13th Street northbound, between Chestnut and Market Streets (across from St. John's). The garage will be on your left, in the Wanamaker Building. Take the elevators to the Mezzanine to access street level, and from the Mezzanine to the Crystal Tea Room for the reception.
All of our locations are within a 3-minute walking distance of each other. Should you not want to walk, ubers and rideshares are all readily available in the city!
Our wedding Mass begins at 3:00pm at St. John the Evangelist. Since it will be a Friday during the holiday season, traffic may be heavy. We kindly ask guests to arrive by 2:45 to allow time for everyone to take their seats!
This is a great time to check into your hotel if you have not done so already or stop for a quick drink and get the party going early! Look under the "things to do" section.
Cocktail hour will take place at 6:00pm and then guests will be seated for the reception
Yes! The Crystal Tea Room offers an after party on site that we would love for you all to join!
We have secured three hotel blocks for our guests! We will be staying at the Loews, but we also have blocks at The Notary and The W. All three are excellent hotels and are within a 5-minute walk of each other. For booking details, please visit the 'Travel' section of our website.
Unfortunately, no. We love your little ones, we really do. This is an adult only event with the exception of the those participating in our wedding ceremony. Use our wedding as an excuse to have a night off and enjoy the night!
We are unable to accommodate plus ones unless it is specifically indicated on your invitation. When you RSVP you will be able to see the exact number of people and their names you can RSVP for.
We are opting out of the traditional next day 'brunch' and planning to recover with some German beers and bites at Brü Craft & Wurst at 12:30 before we watch the Army Navy game at 3pm. Meet us if you are around! More info under 'schedule' section.
Alex swears by John's Roast Pork in South Philly. Mike’s go-to spot is his favorite neighborhood dive, Callahan’s, where he’s earned the nickname "Cheesesteak Mike." If you’re asking Pat’s vs. Geno’s, Mike’s loyalty lies with Geno’s (his Pop and Uncle Lenny wouldn’t have it any other way). If you want something close by to our wedding locations, Uncle Gus’s in Reading Terminal Market (a block away from the Loews) makes a great one too!
