We love a good natural food grocery store, and this is one of our favorites - close to the venue. Great bread.
1.5 mile round trip hike with beautiful ocean views. Drive 15-20 minutes from Mill Valley Inn/Acqua Hotel to Rodeo Beach lot. Park and head to Coastal Trail. Turn left uphill, then right to follow until Tennessee Point. Stop for the view, then turn back the same way you came.
This long, but worthwhile hike offers some of the most beautiful views of the point reyes landscape. You may see all sorts of critters on the trail. A four mile hike of moderate difficulty to a otherwise hard to access beach and a four mile return. Maybe you will see an otter! Bring water and sun protection!
This is the loveliest bookstore and always worth the trip (especially if you are coming from or going to Drakes Estero Trail). Point Reyes Station is also worth a peek - take D street from Petaluma for a scenic drive to see the town on the fault line.
Great spot to grab a bite to eat. Bea's favorite is the pollo al horno (with pink beans + sweet plantains) and limeade. There is a location in Mill Valley, too!
If you play guitar, or just like looking at museum quality guitars with pedigrees, you have to stop at Schoenberg Guitars in Tiburon. They let you play anything you want.
People go crazy for their croissants and kouign amanns. IS it worth standing in the always long line? There is something undoubtedly special in these warm, buttery viennoiseries. Get here early! The Inner Richmond and Clement street has lots of treasures, we recommend exploring on foot.
This is the cute little fancy dog shop that happens to be our neighbor. A nice destination if you want to walk around our neighborhood, where you will find lots of fancy shops, opportunities for alcohol, a great bookstore and more.
Alex's favorite pizza in San Francisco. Located in the historic North Beach neighborhood, Golden Boy is just around the corner from Washington Park, City Lights Bookstore, and borders San Francisco's Chinatown.
Very cute, totally free, nature center museum with animals to visit with. Might see a coyote passing through. Another incredible spot to see a panorama of San Francisco - and walking distance to a sweet little hilltop park.
Our favorite city grocer. This worker-owned vegetarian-only market is a joy. They have the best produce around, an incredible cheese section, LOTS of bulk food/teas/oils, and a great selection of quality sundries.
While you may not hear the beautiful tones of the Wave Organ on any given day, a journey out to this particular point will bring you into the full sunshine and glory of the San Francisco Bay coast. Worth the walk out for the views alone.
Worth the hike up this scenic hill just adjacent to the Haight and just above the Castro. Catch an INCREDIBLE view of the city from one of it's more pedestrian friendly hills. A favorite spot to walk to from our house. Buena Vista Park is very low key. Address shared is somewhere near by the view.
One of our favorite spots, we walk here with Sorrel almost every weekend. Easy to get to from the GG bridge, if driving! Lovely place for play, picnics (sometimes there are food trucks lined up), walking around the Presidio, and enjoying the fresh air.
