Alexis and Max met in Canaday Courtyard during their freshman year of college in 2016. They had a brief conversation making the connection that Alexis’s friend from violin camp went to school with Max since kindergarten. From then on, it was a match made in heaven. Okay that is an exaggeration. They actually did not really run into each other very much for the next three years. Until they both found themselves as counselors for a peer mental health counseling group, Room 13. They had a long conversation at a social picnic during Room 13 training in Fall 2019, and sparks flew. So, they went on their first date to get coffee at Darwin’s and walk by the Charles River. Then another for bubble tea. And another for sushi. A few months into dating, Max and Alexis were strewn across the country by the pandemic in March 2020. Once finally safe to meet back up, they started their post-graduation jobs and lived together between Boston where Max worked and Seattle where Alexis worked. Two years later, they applied to graduate schools at the same time and chose to go to MIT and Harvard—finally back in the same city together. They moved in together to a slightly too-small apartment near the Symphony train stop. They adopted a cute pup named Rocco. Fine, they never got a cute pup named Rocco, but it seems like they should, right? The day after their 5-year anniversary in October of 2024, Alexis and Max got engaged in a scenic marriage proposal in Fort Tryon Park. They now spend their days working and studying hard, traveling as much as possible, and eating sushi.
