The hotel has asked that all guest accommodations be paid for through a single group payment. For that reason, we are required to collect our guests payments. For the two-night, three-day stay, the cost is $500 per guest. Once you arrive, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and select beverages will be included throughout your stay. Our guests will enjoy exclusive use of the entire Tuscan villa for our wedding celebration, private access to all amenities including the pool, dedicated bartenders and restaurant staff, private restaurant. All applicable VAT and currency exchange rates are included in the price of accommodation. There will be no outside guests on the property, allowing us to enjoy the villa together as a private retreat for the weekend. We recognize that joining us requires a meaningful commitment, both financially and personally, and that many sacrifices are often made to attend a special occasion such as this. Please know how deeply grateful we are for your consideration and support. Having you with us would mean the world to us, and we truly appreciate the effort and thoughtfulness behind your decision to celebrate alongside us.
Please read this section! While ETIAS has not officially launched, it is expected to be implemented by the end of 2026. ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) is a required online travel authorization for visa-exempt visitors, including U.S. travelers, entering many European countries such as Italy. It is not a visa, but a simple pre-travel security screening similar to the U.S. ESTA. Travelers will complete a short online application before departure, which includes basic personal details, passport information, and a small fee. Once approved, ETIAS is typically valid for multiple entries over several years or until the passport expires. Travelers should check official updates closer to departure to confirm requirements.
There are many ways to travel through Europe and it is fairly easy to get to (FLR) Florence on a direct flight from cities like Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, and London so we have just included the closest airports to our venue. FCO (Rome) is the largest airport in Italy and accepts the most direct flights from the US of any Italian airport. FCO is a 2 hour and 45 minute drive from Villa Barberino and a 3 hour drive to Florence. You can also take the train from Rome's city center(Rome Termini Station) (30 minute Uber from the airport) to Florence (S. M. Novella Station) which is non-stop and takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes. FLR (Florence) is the closest option to Villa Barberino, but it does not accept any direct flights from the US. Most connections will be from LHR (London) or MAD (Madrid). FLR (Florence) is a 50 minute drive to the villa. MXP (Milan) or LIN (Milan) are both located in Milan and are good options if you are arriving early and would like to visit Northern Italy, Switzerland, or Lake Como before making your way down to Florence. Milan is about a 3 hour drive or a 2 hour train from Florence.
We warmly encourage guests to arrive in Italy at least three days prior to the wedding celebrations, allowing ample time for a smooth and leisurely journey to the villa, as well as an opportunity to relax and fully enjoy the beauty and charm of the surrounding region before the festivities begin. We promise, it will be worth it! Please also note that Memorial Day falls on Monday, May 31st, 2027, during the week of the wedding.
On-site accommodations are offered at a fixed rate. As the villa has requested that all room accommodations be paid in a single transaction, we will be collecting payments on the hotel’s behalf. We kindly ask that each guest submit an initial deposit of $250 per guest by November 1, 2026, with the remaining balance of $250 per guest due by February 1, 2027.
By Car: FCO (Rome) 2 hours and 45 minutes (Direct from DFW and many other US Airports) FLR (Florence) 50 minutes (Connect in Madrid, London, or Paris) PSA (Pisa) 1 hour and 30 minutes (Connect in London) BLQ (Bologna) 1 hour and 40 minutes (Connect in Madrid or London) MXP (Milan) 4 hours and 15 minutes (Connect in Philadelphia, NYC, Madrid, or London) LIN (Milan) 3 hours and 20 minutes (Connect in Madrid or London)
Renting a car in Italy is not a necessity but is a great option if you plan to explore the countryside and smaller towns. Driving in the major Italian cities can be confusing and costly if you aren't familiar with the local driving laws. If you have ever driven in Italy, you have probably received a ZTL ticket. Many historic Italian city centers, including Florence, Bologna, Rome, etc. operate under ZTL laws (Zona a Traffico Limitato), which restrict vehicle access in order to reduce traffic and protect historic areas. These zones are monitored by cameras that automatically issue fines to unauthorized vehicles, including rental cars. ZTL entrances are marked with signs displaying operating hours and whether the restriction is currently active. Because GPS directions may accidentally route drivers through these areas, tourists often receive fines without realizing they entered a restricted zone. If you have a rented car, it is generally best to park outside the city center and explore on foot or by public transportation.
Depending on how early you arrive, there are endless options on places you can explore. Just reach out to us and we would be more than happy to give recommendations for travel leading up to and following the wedding. The night before we head to the villa (June 1st, 2027) we recommend staying in Florence as this will allow the quickest and easiest journey to the venue on the arrival date (June, 2nd 2027).
