William and Alexis met while working on the ambulance at the Volunteer Hose Company in Middletown, Delaware back in 2018. Believe it or not, William and Alexis didn’t exactly hit it off at first—in fact, they could barely tolerate each other! William would even go out of his way to avoid working the same shift as Alexis. (Rude, right?) But time has a funny way of changing things. One day, William handed Alexis the keys to his brand new truck and let her drive it back to the firehouse to avoid a late run. That was the moment everything started to shift. During a night shift, while sitting in the Friendly’s parking lot talking about life, William looked over at Alexis and said, “I’m going to marry you someday.” She laughed it off—probably rolled her eyes—but as it turns out, he wasn’t joking.
