How They Met

09-04-2016

Vito and Alexis met through the dating app Tinder. While Vito was on a break during the Bar Exam in Santa Clara, he swiped right on Alexis's profile (swiping right means you are interested). Later that day, Alexis swiped right on Vito's profile, and the match was created! Vito made the first move, sending Alexis a message asking about her tattoos and her interest in the Raiders. After five weeks of texting and talking on the phone (and one cancelled date...Alexis was stressed about the start of the school year), Alexis and Vito met for their first date on September 4, 2016. The date began at Paper Plane in San Jose, CA, where they got to know one another over drinks. Since the date was going well, Vito suggested having dinner at Farmers Union. After this night of great conversation and many laughs, the two felt an undeniable spark. And even though there was 100 miles between them, nothing kept Alexis and Vito apart!

The Proposal

12-31-2017

In October 2017, Alexis and Vito picked out the perfect engagement ring. Alexis, knowing that Vito had purchased the ring, was eagerly waiting for the moment when he would “pop the question.” In November 2017, after a trip to the Museum of Ice Cream in San Francisco came and went with no proposal, Alexis questioned if it was ever going to happen. Then, in December 2017, a trip to scenic Cayucos, CA arrived and Alexis was filled with anxious anticipation. On New Year’s Eve, the two took a walk on the beach and explored tide pools, but there was no proposal. Then a lovely dinner at an upscale restaurant came and went with no proposal. Alexis left the restaurant wondering if Vito even brought the ring on this getaway. Once they made it back to the rustic AirBnB, Alexis wanted to get into her pajamas, but Vito told her to wait. “Why is he being weird?” Alexis thought, with butterflies in her stomach. Around 10 pm, Vito hid the ring under the comforter when Alexis left the bedroom. When she came back and pulled down the bedding, the ring was there, shining. Alexis started to cry and repeatedly asked Vito “Are you sure?” Then Vito asked “Well, is it a yes? Or a no?” And of course, Alexis yelled “YES!” with gleeful joy.
