What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony starts at 5:30PM, however please plan to arrive at least 15-30 minutes early to allow yourself time to get into the cave.

When should we arrive, and when should we depart?

Answer

We plan for most wedding guests to arrive in Boerne Thursday evening through Friday afternoon and depart Sunday. There's plenty of sights and activities in San Antonio and Boerne, so don't worry about arriving too early! We'll be hosting a welcome dinner Friday evening at the Kendall Inn.

Are we required to stay at the Kendall?

Answer

You're not required to stay at the Kendall, however we've reserved the entire venue at the Kendall specifically for wedding guests. Certain rooms are earmarked for the wedding party and immediate family, however there's plenty of other rooms available. Each room at the Kendall is unique and has it's own character. If space at the Kendall Inn fills up, there's additional lodging at the William Hotel directly across the street. https://thewilliamboerne.com/ There's also numerous AirBnBs and other cute lodges scattered throughout Boerne.

Should we rent a car to drive to the Kendall?

Answer

The Kendall offers a full service shuttle to & from the airport and cave. The venue is located in downtown Boerne so most bars, restaurants, and shops are within walking distance of the hotel. If you'd like to explore other parts of San Antonio such as the Alamo, Riverwalk, and nearby Cypress parks, we recommend reserving a car.

How do we utilize the shuttle bus at the Kendall?

Answer

While booking your room at the Kendall, please let them know your flight schedule so they know to have the shuttle available. The concierge can be reached at (830) 249-2138. The shuttle is only available to guests at the Kendall, so if you plan on booking an AirBnB, we also recommend renting a car or coordinating with friends for transport.

Will the wedding cave be claustrophobic?

Answer

There are no tight squeezes or claustrophobic passages at the cave. It's a wide-open public "show cave" meant for large tourist groups. There are 126 steps between the cave entrance and the chapel room, and the temperature is a constant 66 degrees. There'll be experienced cave volunteers from the Greater Houston Grotto to assist with anyone needing escort at the cave entrance.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We request that for the ceremony and reception our guests wear semi-formal to formal attire. Consider bringing two pairs of shoes as the cave floor is uneven and may be difficult to walk on in heels.
