FAQs

Question

What are the current travel guidelines?

Answer

Travelers arriving on domestic flights: As of March 10th, domestic travelers are not required to provide proof of vaccination or negative test prior to arriving on the Island. Travelers arriving on international flights: Due to CDC guidelines, all travelers arriving on international flights must present a negative COVID-19 test (either antigen or PCR) taken within one day prior to departure along with proof of vaccination. Non-U.S. citizens or long-term residents will need to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before traveling by air to the United States from a foreign country. As we all know, Covid-19 has affected all of our lives and is continuously changing. We are consistently checking with our wedding venue for any new changes or updates regarding Covid-19 restrictions in Puerto Rico and will continue to update everyone via this website.

Question

How can I find the most up-to-date travel information for Puerto Rico?

Answer

Please visit the link below for updated travel information/guidelines in PR. https://www.discoverpuertorico.com/info/travel-guidelines

Question

Are my children invited to the wedding?

Answer

Jonathan and I love all of your children, but unfortunately, if your child’s name was not on your RSVP, we are so sorry but they are unable to attend. We want you to have the night off and enjoy the party! Please keep in mind that we are also limited due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Question

Will the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

All will take place outdoors at the Hacienda Siesta Alegre. If it rains (because it’s a rainforest), there are covered areas and our wedding planner has a backup plan, but we are prepared to be dancing in the rain if Mother Nature is not on our side that day! ;)

Question

What will the weather be like in March?

Answer

Ladies and Gents, it can be humid in Puerto Rico so our hair may suffer, but the view will be worth it! March is the driest month in PR, so hopefully we'll get lucky on our big day (fingers crossed). Average Temperature in Rio Grande: Approximately 80 Degrees Fahrenheit Note: We visited the venue in October and the temperature was higher than the average of that month.

Question

What will take place after the ceremony?

Answer

We will have a cocktail hour immediately following the ceremony. Hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be served. Dinner and dancing to follow.

Question

What is the wedding attire?

Answer

Elegant Cocktail Attire. Ladies: Cocktail Dress / Men: Button Down Shirt, Pants, Jacket (tie optional). ** Correction: Our wedding invitations say “Formal Attire”, but we have made a slight change to Cocktail Attire. ** We visited the venue in October and it was very hot. We want our guests to be able to dress and glam up, but in attire that is suitable to the weather in PR and our outdoor venue.

Question

Do I need a passport to enter Puerto Rico? What are the travel guidelines?

Answer

U.S. citizens do not need a Passport or a Visa to travel to Puerto Rico as it is a U.S. Territory. Your photo identification will suffice. Regardless of where you're flying from, in order to travel to Puerto Rico we are all currently required to provide either proof of vaccination and a negative PCR molecular or antigen Covid-19 test taken within 48 hours of your travel date. ** IMPORTANT ** To enter P.R., we all must complete the Travel Declaration Form either online prior to travel, or using kiosks upon arrival. Once completed, you will receive a QR code. I highly recommend filling it out prior to travel and saving the QR code for easy access later. The form will ask for your flight number, where you’re staying, how long you’re staying, proof of vaccination and negative Covid test, etc. You will be asked to provide your QR code and identification when exiting the airport. You can use the link below to register and complete the form online. https://1link.travelsafe.pr.gov/

Question

How long will the Bride and Groom be staying in Puerto Rico?

Answer

We arrive in Puerto Rico Wednesday morning (3/23/22) and we leave to our honeymoon on Monday morning (3/28/22). We are planning to do a big beach day after the wedding and will update everyone here once the details are finalized.

Question

Is this an Open Bar wedding?

Answer

YES, of course this is an Open Bar wedding! We ask that you please, PLEASE!, drink responsibly so that we can make the most of our special day! :)

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have a strict guest list due to COVID-19 restrictions and of course would like to stay within our budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

Are there Uber's in Rio Grande?

Answer

There are uber's in the daytime, but according to our wedding planner, you will NOT be able to find an uber after the reception. Uber’s are very difficult to find in Rio Grande in the evening. If you are not driving, below are some cab company recommendations to schedule your ride in advance. - Lina Taxi (in Rio Grande) (787)426-0008 - Tropical Taxi (in Rio Grande) (939) 216-3713 - Astro Taxi (in San Juan) (787) 727-8888

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

Unfortunately, we do not have a hotel room block. We reviewed multiple hotel proposals/contracts, but weren't being given any discounted rates that would be beneficial to our guests and found there are more cost efficient options in the area, such as Airbnb's. We really do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Please check out our Travel Recommendations page for a few of our hotel recommendations and Airbnb locations you can search near the venue.

Question

What do I do if I cannot attend the wedding?

Answer

You will truly be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible by going to the RSVP page and responding “will not attend”, so we can plan accordingly.

Question

Do we need to wear a mask?

Answer

Our venue's Covid policy states that masks are required to unvaccinated guests or minors under twelve (12) years old at all times in public areas except when drinking or food is being consumed, but as per our wedding planner, the venue is very lenient with this rule. If you feel the need to wear a mask at all times, please feel free to do so, but since the majority of our guests are vaccinated and we will be outdoors, masks will not be required to wear at all times.

Question

Are you providing shuttle transportation?

Answer

Since we are not doing a hotel room block, we are still trying to determine how to provide shuttle transportation. We will be working with a transportation company to provide transportation from a couple of locations depending on where most of our guests will be staying. Once we have more information on this, we will update you.
