Travel Note
We have not reserved or rented any Airbnb's or VRBO's. Although both websites have limited options, we found that VRBO has more options here. If any of the hotels we've listed aren't what you're looking for, feel free to check out listings on vacation rental sites. Look in Richland, and Benton City.
Travel Note
We recommend having a vehicle while visiting the area. Public transportation and Ubers/Lyfts are limited and it is not easy to get around without a car. In many cases, driving to our town is easier than flying so you don't have to rent a car. We recommend folks to get in touch with each other that are going to be traveling from the same place, to coordinate the trip and share the load. If you want to fly, we have flight recommendations on this page. We also recommend coordinating with other guests staying at the same hotel as you to carpool to any events for the weekend. We can help you get in touch with other guests for any of these reasons.
Travel Note
No, flying into Seattle is NOT flying near where we live. If you do fly into Seattle, you're in for a fun, beautiful 3.5 hour road trip. Below we have listed a few options for where you can fly into!
Flight
Tri-Cities area has one main airport which is located in Pasco, Washington. This is 20 minutes to Richland where our hotels are located, and 30 minutes from Benton City where the ceremony and reception take place. Flying in and out of the Tri-Cities airport from other major airports is fast and easy. From Salt Lake City it's a non-stop flight for 1 hr 45 min. From Denver, it's 2.5 hrs. Most major airlines fly through the Pasco airport including Alaska, Delta, United and American, and any small regional airlines under them. You will need to rent a car if you fly to our area unless you coordinate with someone to carpool. You can rent a car at the airport, but make sure to schedule ahead of time. Because it is a smaller airport, prices can vary, but this is the closest airport option.
Flight
Walla Walla Airport is located in Walla Walla, WA, 45 min - 1 hour away from Richland, WA, and Benton City, WA. Walla Walla is one of the prime locations for Eastern Washington's wine country, so this could be a nice place to fly into if you'd like to do some additional exploring and wine tasting. Flights can be often cheaper to this airport, but it is a small regional airport so you will likely have some layovers elsewhere depending on where you're flying from. Walla Walla currently boasts two whole flights daily with Alaska Airlines. Expect to get into the airport in the early AM, or late PM the day of your flight. Ask the groom for recommendations, because he grew up here. Ask the bride because she just likes wine.
Flight
The Spokane airport is located in Spokane, WA (wow), 2 hrs and 15 minutes from Richland, WA. You will get a fun road trip through the rolling hills of the Palouse (like the window screen saver), into the scablands (volcanic eruptions), and into the sagebrush steppe of the Tri-Cities. You'll get to see Eastern Washington in all its glory, still green! Flying into Spokane is inexpensive, and easy. Spokane has ease of access to some fun areas in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho, so we recommend that if you fly here extend your trip and use it as a launching point for fun PNW experiences.
Flight
Here it is! Even though we said it isn't close, it's still an option. But we're serious about the beautiful road trip. If you want to explore the PNW while you are here, we live in a great place for it. So whether you're flying into Seattle or Pasco, you can choose a direction and be somewhere beautiful. Fly into Seattle if you want to eat delicious Beecher's cheese at Pike's Place while watching the insane line build up outside of the first Starbucks. Or choose Seattle airport if you want to drive through the northern and central cascades while slowly changing landscapes until you are suddenly in the sage-brush steppe where you will be welcomed by tumbleweeds, bright flowers, and bright sunny skies. SEA-TAC is located about 3 hours northwest of Richland Washington. A large, international airport, easy to fly into from anywhere in the country.
