Parish of San Miguel Arcangel and El Jardin
This is one of the most iconic scenes from San Miguel. The central square over which the parish looks is known as "El Jardin" and it is the beating heart of the city.
Cañada De La Virgen
A well kept archaeological secret! This ruin was open to the public less than 10 years ago. The original residents are still unknown but are believed to have occupied before AD 540-1050. This is approximately a 50 minute drive from the city center.
Fabrica la Aurora
A refurbished textile mill transformed to an important art center in San Miguel. A good place to peruse jewelry, furniture, contemporary art stores, and grab a bite to eat at the on-site Food Factory.
El Charco de Ingenio
170 acre botanical garden within a nature preserve. A great place to see wildlife, hike, picnic, etc.

A public library with shelves stocked with bilingual books and other media.
Santuario de Jesús Nazareno de Atotonilco
If you are into churches, this is a must.
Escondido Hot Springs
Aquatic playground with indoor and outdoor thermal pools fed by the natural springs.
Museo Histórico Casa de Allende
One of the most important buildings in the city just south of El Jardin. The building was once the birth place of Jose de Allende y Unzaga, a Spanish army officer who fought for the side of the Mexican independence.
Mercado de Artesanías
A short 10 min walk from El Jardin will bring you to Mercado de Artesanías. They have a huge selection of items such as Mexican pottery, traditional Mexican blankets, cowboys hats, toys, clothes, jewelry, etc
