We first met through our phones after moving to Oakland. We bonded on our first date, both forgetting our IDs and needing to pull out our passports to order drinks. Alex had recently lost her license and Evan was waiting for his new Wisconsin ID to come in after a move to California. We proceeded to explore Oakland and Berkeley together by going to restaurants, trivia nights, and making each other increasingly elaborate charcuterie boards. Our time in East Bay together was formative but short-lived. Throughout the pandemic, we moved a number of times. Each place brought new adventures: raising chickens together, floating the Russian River, and becoming wine snobs in Healdsburg. Our love and friendship have grown daily, and we are excited to share this event with all of our family and friends.
