The ceremony symbolizes respect and unity of both the brides and grooms family as they now become one. The ceremony will start from the parents of the bride and groom, the grandparents, followed by uncles and aunts and finally cousins/friends who will speak a few words to wish the couple well and present the newlyweds with a red envelope packet with lucky money or monetary gifts from the brides/grooms families. The colors red and gold on this date symbolizes love and success. To mark the end of ceremony, the couple will enjoy a bowl of rice balls, symbolizing a successful marriage of togetherness that is round & full like the rice ball – Representing a completion of love witnessed by both families.
