If ground transportation is preferable, the ground transfer can be arranged with It'zana directly. The cost is about $100 per person, and the ride from the airport to the hotel is about 3.5 hours.
Flight
You can easily get to Placencia via an 'island hopper' flight as an alternate to the shuttle. The plane is a small commuter and can seat up to 12 guests at a time. A group discount has been arranged by Maya Island Air, and can easily be purchased via email. The flight is about 45 minutes long but offers breathtaking views of the coastline, barrier reef, and turquoise waters. With your flight, you simply enter Belize from your international flight....clear customs and immigration, then re-check in and board your flight to Placencia. It'zana will then pick you up from the airport at no cost.
Travel Note
There are lots of transportation options while you are in Placencia. It'zana offers a shuttle service to/from town that can be booked directly with the front desk. Bikes are available at the hotel, and it is about a 30-40 minute easy ride into the village. If you are looking for something a little quicker, golf carts are available for rent for about $50-60 USD per day and are an easy and quick way to get around town. If you just want to jump in a taxi, the rates vary but are around $25 USD to get to the village and are readily available.
