It all started with a swipe right! While the online dating scene isn’t exactly the most romantic of settings, after some initial chit chat, Sydney used her New Jersey sass to call Alex out for not having responded to her in a timely fashion. In that moment, he knew that he may have finally met his match. Thank you Bumble. They had their first date on the rooftop of the St. Pete Pier, where they immediately clicked and before the night was over had already booked their second date. Later that week, Alex surprised Sydney with tickets to a Tampa Bay Lightning playoff game. Their mutual love for hockey grew stronger while getting to see back-to-back championships and they eventually become Season Ticket Holders. It doesn't just stop at hockey either. Alex has now morphed Sydney into a true sports fan and they both enjoy 49ers and WVU football, Yankees baseball, basketball, golf, F1 Racing and more. After two months of dating, Alex decided it was time to really put Sydney to the test by inviting her to his sister's wedding back in New Jersey, where she would get to meet the entire family at once. Not only did she fit right in, she even got Grandpa Frank’s seal of approval! Later that year Alex moved into Sydney's St. Pete apartment with their dog, Bentley. Before Alex met Bentley, he said he didn't like little dogs but he was mistaken. He immediately became Bentley's favorite person and the absolute best Dog Dad. They lived in St. Pete together for a year but have since headed back over the bridge, where they currently live in the heart South Tampa. Almost five years after meeting, Alex knew the time had come to pop the question. He couldn’t think of a better place to go than to where it all began, the St. Pete Pier. Sydney was completely oblivious and so surprised by the proposal. They have been enjoying the fiancé era together and can't wait to celebrate their love story with you all soon!
