We met on a blind date through our best mutual friend, Hydah. Hydah knew we were a perfect match when she discovered Alex and I were from the same beautiful Greek island of Corfu and shared a love for rap music. With so much curiosity, we went on a group date to Hoboken. I will never forget the moment Alex pulled up to Christian and Hydah's house, dramatically, with his arm hanging out over the car window. He tried to play it off as if he wasn't nervous at all. I instantly cracked up because I knew from his tone of voice and confidence, he was just as nervous as I was. Once Alex and I started talking, we connected instantly. It felt effortless to talk to him and like I had known him forever. After spending the day dancing, laughing, and singing away in Hoboken, the rest was history. The next day, Alex texted Hydah telling her I was perfect and I will forever have that text message framed on my fireplace.
Our proposal was LITERALLY magical! Alex and I were vacationing in Las Vegas for our 5-year anniversary and made dinner plans at a beautiful restaurant that overlooked the city skyline called the Eiffel Tower. We had a window view of the Bellagio Fountain and got to watch the water dance and change colors every 15 minutes. It was truly beautiful. In between one of the shows, a man who I thought was the restaurant manager came to our table and asked if we wanted to see a little magic. I knew Alex wouldn't be interested, but I automatically exclaimed "YES, how fun!" Haha. Thinking nothing of it, the man was asking us questions like "What are you celebrating?" and "How long have you been together?". He then asked me to think of my favorite memory with Alex and to remember the time it was around. The man put the cards in a circle, like a clock. He began to weed each card away until one card was left at 11 AM, which was the time of the memory I secretly chose. I gasped, in shock at this man's magical trick, wondering how he picked the exact time I was thinking of. He then asked me to flip over the card and explained how that number would represent love, good luck, and prosperity for Alex and me for times to come. I flipped the card over and read, "Will You Marry Me?". All of a sudden, my jaw dropped, everyone cleared around us, and Alex was on a knee in front of me, smiling with the most beautiful ring. To say I was in complete shock is an understatement! I screamed YASSSS and here we are today planning the wedding of our dreams. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
