I met Mike the day I moved into my dorm room on the 7th floor of Barnhart Hall at the University of Oregon. Mike’s room was directly across the hall from mine and he had already been living there for a few weeks while at football camp. That day began a long (often complicated) friendship. I like to say that I have loved Mike since I met him but it took him a little longer to embrace his feelings. In the fall of 2015 a strong friendship grew stronger, the foundation being set, and by 2017 we officially committed to one another. Mike was living in Cincinatti, I was in Oregon, and we managed a long distance relationship until Mike moved to Portland in 2018. The rest is history- and also the future.
On January 1st, while getting ready to go on a New Year’s Day walk together, Mike got down on one knee and surprised Lexie with his proposal. It was the best way to start a new year, except that Mike was annoyed Lexie refused to put gloves on over her new ring when it was 38° outside!
What is our wedding vibe? Hanging out at a bar with our favorite people celebrating! You can expect flexible seating, pizza, good drinks, music and card games - our favorite things. Our evening will be adult-focused with limited space for minors so we kindly request adults-only. Also, as a teacher on summer break, I'd prefer not be in "teacher mode" on this special day.
