Our Story

Over seven years ago we were brought together by the power of the Internet and we’ve been inseparable ever since. Bridget, from the forests of Washington, had made her way to Denver to work in one of the busiest air traffic control towers in the world. Alex, a Grenadian island girl, had intended to return home but instead got sucked into Colorado’s outdoor activities and started a photography business. We fell in love over a mutual love of travel, the great outdoors, lofty dreams and well-placed sarcasm. Our love of diving brought us to sunken World War II wrecks in the Philippines, our passion for wildlife took us on safari to South Africa and our waterfall wanderlust brought us to Argentina. Traveling together strengthened our bond by having to navigate unexpected challenges while making lasting memories. And, since we have terrible memories, photos help. After deciding our full-time job workloads were not enough of a time constraint, we started investing in our future by buying real estate together. We snagged some great properties and learned how to fix everything from faucets to outlets and everything in between. We love working together and have discovered that even though our brains work very differently, our different strengths and weaknesses cover each others’ blind spots and make us a powerful team. We can’t imagine walking through life without each other. Our friends and family in Colorado, Grenada and around the world are incredibly important to us both as individuals and as a couple, and we are beyond excited to share and celebrate our commitment to each other surrounded by our favorite people.

Proposals

On our 6 year anniversary in the middle of winter we set out on an icy trail up a mountain overlooking Santa Fe, New Mexico without proper footwear. We froze and skated on ice going up the trail. We had also booked an event for that afternoon and without crampons the hike was taking much longer than anticipated. I was panicking and Bridget (the punctual and time cognizant one) was already saying we weren’t going to have time to make it to the top, not knowing what I had planned. So I proposed at an overlook before the top and gave her a ring I had made of seashells from our travels and sand from Grenada. She said YES and we slid down the sheet of ice to get back to town. Two months later Bridget took me to the location of our first date and surprised me with a limo that whisked us away to an awaiting helicopter. We flew over downtown, Red Rocks and some of the places around Denver where we had dates over the years. It dropped us at a helipad and the limo picked us back up and brought us to the base of Mount Falcon, a hike we had done as one of our very first dates in 2017. We through-hiked over the mountain and on the other side a gorgeous picnic was waiting for us. There she proposed to me with a mountain backdrop. The limo drove us back to Denver and dropped us at the brewery where we ended our first date; she had gathered some of our friends there to celebrate with us. It was perfect and totally put mine to shame. I wouldn't have it any other way.
