Jack is Rob’s first ever friend, and he is also his best friend. For that reason, Jack is the best man for this wedding. The two of them may not look the same, but they’re very much alike when they are together. Even when Jack was away in the military or living in Arizona, the two of them would keep in touch by simply texting a line from a favorite movie, like they had their own language that only the two of them know. Jack will be the one at the wedding entertaining a group and always having a story to tell. He will never hesitate to share one about the person he has known for his entire life.

One Friday in the early 2000s, two teenage girls purchased tickets for a b-list horror movie, Freddy vs Jason. One of them (cough Alex) was extremely susceptible to skittishness and during a particularly frightening scene spilled all her popcorn. Alicia, while a bit shocked at the sudden shower of kernels, found Alex’s reaction hilarious. Cut to years later, and reunions between the two ALWAYS include a good scary movie and lots of laughs. Alex has always relied on Alicia’s ability to make the best of every situation and willingness to say ‘yes’ to every adventure!

Joe first burst into Rob’s life once again at Nutanix. A native from Boston, Joe is unapologetically proud of where he’s from and the northeast way of life. Rob and Joe became friends as Joe looked to explore the best California had to offer. There was much more time to do this given it’s not freezing 4 months out of the year. Rob was happy to find someone as interested in an adventure as he was. Joe was also there the night Rob first met Alex at the Guardsmen Tree Lot Party in San Francisco. Let’s just say if it weren’t for Joe, no one would be here today...

Nicole Comey

Moving halfway around the world, Alex never expected to find someone she would consider family. But that’s what happened when she moved to New Zealand and met Nicole. Nicole once invited Alex on a caving adventure with friends. What sounded like a VIP experience of rappelling down underground waterfalls, turned terrifying when they got lost in miles of underground river. Lucky for them, Nicole had packed plenty of PB&J sandwiches and assured everyone they wouldn't be eaten alive by wetas (google at your own peril). Nicole has affectionately earned the nickname “mom”. By the way, this picture was taken at the 2017 Guardsmen Tree Lot party, the night Alex met Rob!

Scott Wright

On Rob’s first day of work at Nutanix, he was shocked to find someone yelling loudly on the phone next to where he was assigned a desk - that person was Scott Wright. Scott’s animated persona reverberated among the younger, more impressionable salespeople. He took Rob under his wing as a mentee, probably because Rob never turned down a chance to bond over happy hour or a steak dinner. When Scott was promoted to a job in Seattle, the two of them were paired to develop business for this underpenetrated market. They were on the phone constantly discussing strategy and this is where their friendship grew much tighter. Rob can always rely on Scott for life or career advice, even if it means a little bit of yelling is needed to get the point across.

Picture a small conference room inside a local bank branch. Two young women, just starting their careers out as bean counters, are learning how to identify fraud and getting coffee orders for the team correctly. Alex had an extra year of experience, so she’d often look over Sarah’s work before it got turned into their boss. Sarah, would test Alex’s attention to detail by leaving funny YouTube links embedded in her workpapers for Alex to find, leading to hysterical laughter fits during their late nights at work. Alex can always depend on Sarah to contemplate life, career (and fashion) decisions with a dash of levity.

Rob and Junior first met while working together at Nutanix. Becoming fast friends, not a weekend went by that the two weren’t together. Some of their most memorable times include bay cruises, Tahoe trips, celebrating the Super Bowl in San Diego, and finally the Nutanix IPO. Junior is responsible for Rob’s passion for travel. Junior never hesitated to live his best life by hopping aboard a flight to wherever his mind thought he should be. More importantly, Rob also learned from Junior how precious our time is and not to waste it. Better known as “Suavemente” after the hit Elvis Crespo song, watch out for him on the dance floor when this song or any other Latin vibe plays during the reception

There are people in your life, whose mere existence brings you joy and pride. Sofia is Alex’s younger sister. This caring young lady has a very caring and resilient spirit. Although they live across the country from each other, and have a couple of decades between them, she instantly taught Alex the meaning of deep, unconditional love. She couldn’t picture this big day without her.
