This is one of our favorite spots to hit because we always enjoy walking around and looking at fascinating creatures, both the animals and the people who visit this lovely place. Highly recommend getting hand squeezed lemonade which is usually located near the elephants and visiting the North West Passage.
If you brought your furry friend along for the ride this is the perfect place to explore! A whole section of the park is dedicated to off-leash dogs and is full of hills, lakes, forests, and open fields for them to roam and explore. Don't have a dog? Bring a bike, skates, or some running shoes and enjoy a nice hike around the park on many of their paved and dirt trails. This is the location of our first date and it is always a must when we are in town!
When in Memphis you have to try the BBQ! This is one of 2 big BBQ places that we like to frequent when in the city and we hope you find some time to visit at least one! Our personal favorites to get at this location are the Full Slab of Ribs Dry and Homemade chips as well as Pulled Pork Platter with Rolls, Baked Beans, and Onion Rings. While here don't forget to try all of their different types of sauces!
This is our go to BBQ spot when we are back in the city. We love the atmosphere, how close it is to our family's houses, and the food! Our personal favorites are the Loaded Pulled Pork Nachos as an appetizer and the Jumbo Pulled Pork Sandwich with BBQ Mac and Cheese, BBQ Baked Beans, and Homemade Chips as sides. Also has some of the sweetest Sweet Tea you will ever taste!
This restaurant has been a staple in both of our childhoods and it would be a mistake to not check it out! We challenge you to shoot toothpicks into the ceiling and get them to stick, as well as figuring out how and where to leave your mark on the walls. Our favorites at all of the locations across the memphis area are the Sausage Cheese Plate for an appetizer, Huey Burger with Fries, and a side of Onion Rings. If you really want to live in our childhood, order yourself a steak stick dinner with fries!
If you are feeling like climbing this is a great place to do it! Relatively new to the area but an absolutely phenomenal place to hang and test your climbing abilities. Highly recommend exploring this rock climbing gym if you feel the need to let off some steam or get in a bit of exercise. If you're lucky, or talk to him in advance, you might encounter a wild Nathan there before or after the wedding day!
Love Sno Cones? Well here's a place that will change your mind forever or what you think is the "perfect" sno cone! Their flavor combinations and ice quality aren't the most unique thing about this place. But if you like soft served ice cream, order your sno cone supreme and enjoy the best sno cone in your life. We would line the sidewalks and wait in ridiculously long lines just to get our hands on one of these bad boys. Our favorties are the Wedding Cake which is for the less adventurous eaters, as well as a Supreme Ninja Turtle for those willing to try something new!
