We met the very first day of high school back in 2008, he sat behind me in science class. Not directly behind me, but close enough to talk. After the first day of school my mom asked me the question that most moms probably ask their teenage daughters, which was, "meet any new cute boys?" and I responded with "there was one." The one I meant was in fact Nathan, but I wasn't allowed to date until I was 16 and I told him as much when the conversation turned to that topic one day. The way he tells it is that he was in fact going to ask me out freshman year but chose not to because I told him I wasn't allowed to date. Funny enough he had a "to ask out" list and he says I was close to the top, but he could be just sucking up. Two years go by and we are still just friends. At the start of Junior year we are hanging out at a football game and Kelly decided to tie my shoes in 1,000 knots. Naturally I made Nathan, who I still had a crush on, untie them all and after a while he got them untied. Before the game was over, somehow he managed to be holding my hand. The next weekend we went to the Delta Fair together with a group of my friends and again my hand ended up in his, but only as we started to leave the fair. Then, finally, after one of my soccer games, he asked me to homecoming. That was our first official date, Junior Year Homecoming, and we've been together ever since.
