Snorkeling
There are tons of amazing snorkeling spots around Maui, typically just a few steps from shore. Keep an eye out for the giant turtles!
Helicopter tour
On our first trip to Hawaii, we took a helicopter tour around the islands. If you're a Jurassic Park fan, this is a must-do experience as much of the movie was filmed in the mountains around Hawaii.
Luau
Experiencing a luau is another must-do thing when in Hawaii. Our host hotel, the Wailea Beach Resort, puts on an amazing luau — just a few steps from your hotel room.
Mai Tais at Monkeypod
If you like mai tais (if you've never tried one, you must!), you have to hit up Monkeypod. There's one close to the host hotel and the mai tais are known as by far the best on the island.
Road to Hana
The Road to Hana is an entire day's trip, but it's so worth it. Experience huge waterfalls (which you can swim in), and hike through a bamboo rainforest (if you're up for the 2 mile hike at the end).
Sunrise at Haleakala
This is for you early birds (which we are not, hence we've yet to do this!). The volcano of Haleakala sits 10k feet above sea level, and if you can get there before sunrise, the views are said to be simply out of this world.
The Shops at Wailea
Forget your embarrassing Hawaiian shirt? The Shops at Wailea has you covered, just a few steps from the Wailea Beach Resort hotel. There are also plenty of high-end shops that don't sell embarrassing shirts, too, as well as traditional Hawaiian shave ice.
