We understand that everyone needs to handle this unfortunate situation in their own way. However, out of respect for others, we ask that everyone put forth their best effort to adhere to the guidelines and practice social distancing. We do not want to force anyone to follow the rules or to feel uncomfortable, but this unusual time calls for thoughtful behavior. With that said, we look forward to a successful and enjoyable wedding! We have included a link to the state guidelines which we will be adhering to. Thank you all! Best wishes, Alex and Lucas https://www.omaha.com/news/state_and_regional/watch-here-gov-ricketts-announces-phase-3-of-coronavirus-restrictions/article_3fbb1a17-2722-5237-a45e-589dffc11627.html
We met in music class our freshman year of college. Lucas and our friend Derek sat in front of Alex and our friend Tahlyr. Alex and Tahlyr had a goal to find new friends during their first year of college and Lucas and Derek seemed to be good candidates. So Alex and Tahlyr often tried to joke with Lucas and Derek. Derek would turn around and smile but Lucas never even acknowledged Alex and Tahlyr behind him. In an attempt to get Lucas' attention, one day Alex and Tahlyr got to class early to ensure they arrived before Lucas. When Lucas entered the room the girls played "Fergalicious" which was Lucas' walk up song at the time. Lucas turned and looked at Alex and Tahlyr but did not say a word or even crack a smile. At some point Lucas came around and the four of us became friends. But had it not been for Alex and Tahlyr's determination to find new friends freshman year, we might not be here today!
Alex came home from work, and, to her surprise, the lights in the apartment were off. The floor was illuminated by candle light, and a rose pedal pathway led her to the back door. The apartment filled with the sounds of our favorite song "Die a Happy Man." As she ventured out to the back, tears filling her eyes, she saw Lucas standing with a single rose. She walked towards him, they embraced, and he got down on a knee and asked the question she had been dying to hear. The rest is history.
