There are many AirBnB options on Holbox. The wedding will be at Villa Moopich, which is about a 13 minute walk from downtown Holbox. Everything is pretty close, within golf carting, biking, or walking distance, however, we recommend choosing an AirBnb that is on the eastern side of the island, east of downtown Holbox, to be closer to the wedding venue for easier commuting. Shared shuttle service from Cancun airport to Chiquila port. This shared shuttle service departs every day from Cancun Airport at pre-scheduled times: 10:15 am, 13:00 (1 pm), and 15:45 (3:45 pm). They only pickup at Terminal 2 domestic. It is a two hour ride to get to Chiquila Port. Private shuttle service from Cancun to Chiquila Port, and Chiquila Port to Cancun. When we visited Holbox in November, we used STP Caribe. They were excellent and could not have been more professional, safe, timely, helpful, and COVID- conscious. They made this portion of our journey incredibly easy. Ferry: Chiquila to Holbox

The ferry runs every 30 minutes throughout the day from Chiquila to Holbox, and back. There are two colored ferries: one red and one blue, however, they are the SAME service, so don't be confused. *Be advised! If you want to stay dry, sit on bottom level of the ferry! We rode on the top for fresh air, and got soaking wet!* Cost: 200 pesos one-way (approximately $10.53 USD).

Golf Cart Rental: Monkeys

Once in Holbox, Monique recommends renting a golf cart to get around the island. We don't think renting a golf cart is necessary unless you plan to stay on the western side of the island or further away from the wedding venue. *Be advised! Roads on Holbox are ALL DIRT or SAND! They can be very full of potholes and, in rainy season, puddles! In April we hope that the roads will be dry.)

Bike Rental

There are many bike rental shops all around the downtown square. Cost varies on how long you plan to use the bikes, but as a general rule, 200 pesos for 24 hours is standard. Don't let anyone charge you more! Or bargain! Biking was a fun and really easy way to get around the island.

Cab Information

All of the cabs are golf carts. Generally cabs will only take 2 people at a time, so groups, be prepared to split up. This is the easiest way to get from the ferry to the accommodations on the island, especially with luggage. Most hotels can call the cabs for you if you want to use the cab service to get to and from the wedding.
